I feel kinda dumb here but I guess I will just grit my teeth and plunge in anyway. I am thinking of using the Hornady 158 gr. LSWC bullet for my .38 Special. I notice that these bullets do not have a crimping groove or cannelure. I roll crimp my loads. I guess you put the crimp over the edge where the full caliber part stops and the cone starts to form? You don't just roll crimp into the straight full caliber part right? You can use these bullets even though you don't taper crimp right?

Those bullets are soft lead swagged. I just use a mild roll crimp right into the side. Use just enough crimp to prevent bullet pull.

Good Luck...

Joe.

Your response was the only one I got, but it was all I needed.

Thanks!
