Hi all,

I'm a bit confused about what is included in the LNL Powder Measure that comes with the LNL AP Press. The websites and searches I've done haven't really been clear.

1) I'm confused to as what it actually comes with. Does it come with drums for BOTH small (pistol) and large (rifle) load (i.e one or two drums)? Does it also come two metering inserts for large and small?

2) Does it come with the case activated powder die?

3) If I wish to use the aftermarket calibrated micrometer inserts, what exactly do I need to purchase (i.e. drums.. this ties into my first question)? For instance, if ONLY a large drum is included, would I only need to purchase a small drum, small micrometer, and large micrometer to have the full range of flexibility?

4)Can the small micrometer be used on a large drum? If so, Is this recommended?

Thanks for any help guys!

I'll try to answer:

1) It comes with both the large and small rotors and inserts.

2) Not certain what you mean. It comes with everything you need to drop powder into the case when the case is present. It DOES NOT include a case mouth expander.

3) The only Micrometer inserts I would recommend using are the ones made by Hornady. Other manfacturer's micromater may have different threads, etc.

4) Why? The small insert, micrometer or not, in the large rotor is going to be highly inaccurate. I can't see why you would want to do this.

I'll add a little:
2) Yes.
3) The drums and inserts have to match. The inserts that come with the press are infinitely adjustable -- they just don't have the marks that allow you to quickly reset them to a previous measurement.
4) No.

Edit: The micrometer inserts work with the same drums as the regular inserts, so you don't have to buy new ones.
