How do anti gun politicians get elected

I don't understand the premise of the question...

Unions are diverse and a job requirement for many union members.

People belong to the NRA because they are pro-gun. People join the NRA voluntarily because of their beliefs. You're assuming NRA members vote a certain way because they belong to the NRA. I think the more logical assumption would be people join the NRA because they are pro-gun and would vote pro-gun regardless of their membership in the NRA.

If the NRA had 14.8 million members they would have a lot more money, but I don't think that you would gain 10 million pro-gun voters. The pro-gun voters are the people who would be joining the NRA. Joining the NRA wouldn't automatically change anyone's vote.

I think the pro-gun voting block is extremely powerful and would remain powerful even if the NRA disappeared. Politicians fear getting on the bad side of the NRA not because the NRA is a monolithic force but because all of the individuals the NRA can easily rally behind their cause. The NRA helps unify the pro-gun voice. The NRA didn't create the pro-gun voice.

This gov't website says there are 14.8 Million union members.

The NRA reports 5 Million Members.

Who did the Unions support 8 years ago? approximately 130 million votes cast.

Who did the Unions support 4 years ago.? approximately 127 million votes cast.

Who are the Unions supporting this time?

What if the NRA had 14.8 million members?

I just read where it is estimated 200 million citizens own guns.

There are a lot of flaws in interpreting these numbers in this way.

Union leadership is majority Democrat supporters. Union members are much more split. Many are even NRA members.

Though not all are gun owners, the NRA membership is 100% pro gun, or people who want you to believe they are pro gun.

People join the NRA (or other orgs) because they WANT TO.

Some people join unions because they want to. Others join unions because it is required in order to receive a paycheck.

People who decide they no longer agree with the NRA simply stop mailing a check.

People who may adamantly oppose their union have to quit their job to get out.

If joining the NRA were required in order to purchase a firearm, there would be a lot more NRA members than union members.

I don't view the 2nd Amendment as a single issue, but rather why they support it. If they only support it because they own a gun, that is elitism and anti-Constitutional. If they support it based on Constitutional principle, then I look to see that they view the rest of the Constitution in the same way.
