How durable is factory applied camo?

I'm looking at getting a Browning Cynergy shotgun and it has the factory camo, a realtree AP pattern. How well does the camo coating hold up? Also does it improve the weather or corrosion resistance of the gun?

I don't have a browning, but use a NEF Pardner Pump in camo for duck hunting. I have beat the crap out of it and the coating has held up great. Being that the NEF is one of the cheaper shotguns on the market, I would imagine that anything browning puts on there guns would be that much better.

I have a Mossberg semi-auto turkey gun with their factory applied Woodland Camo and it has held up extremely well over the years. I don't know about any additional weather resistance but there has never been any sign of rust on any of the metal parts that are camo finished.

I had a Remington 870 Desert Recon model that had an acceptable paint finish on the metal, but crappy finish on the stocks. It seems that they outsourced the camo finish to someone who had a bad batch of paint. Visually the camo was pleasing, but it would scratch off with a fingernail. They would have been better going with a film type camo.

I suspect that your Browning has a film type finish, if so, they are pretty durable.
