how important is cheek weld to you?

i didn't realize that posting a vid was shoveling anything.

No, but posting a video then vehemently defending its inaccuracies is.

misunderstandings about concepts i'm teaching? seriously? where did i say i was trying to teach you anything? the only misunderstanding is that you seem to think that placing your head firmly upon the stock is somehow translated to "slamming". this vid, as i said originally was a quick find that demonstrated cheek weld. could you please point out where he says "slam" your head down?

The photo above looks pretty clear to me. There's a referenced time code in that reply as well.

again please enlighten us all on proper technique for accurate and consistent shooting.

Consistency is dependent on the shooter. Comfort can be dictated by gear, but comfort is not a requisite of getting good results. I could show you plenty examples of rifles that don't have "comfy" cheek welds that I have no problem getting great accuracy from. This isn't supposed to be a "show us your rifles" thread. This is about you telling us why you do/don't do certain things, then *asking* us how important they are to us.

johnny come lately? haha, grow up.

Grow up? It's the internet and you posed a question. You don't like my answer, so you tried to relate it back to another unrelated thread. Now you're back to personal attacks.

Now back to your regularly scheduled "Telling you something and then acting like I'm looking for feedback" thread.

Cheek weld is not important, all things considered. Sight alignment and trigger squeeze are the determining factors behind good shots and bad shots. I recommend maintaining a consistent cheek weld, but if you can't so long as your sight picture and trigger squeeze are consistent between shots, you will hit your target.

"vehemently defending". you do have a flair for drama, don't you?

carry on

I needed time for a :barf: break after reading through this thread. One of the worst for confusion, mis-information and squabbles in a long, long time. A few useful comments don't save it.
