How many rounds?

My employer was wanting to know how many rounds of live ammunition a civilian can own or if there is even a limit. We live in NC.

Generally no limit.

Even in a fire, loaded ammunition is not a significant hazard.

Federally, no. As far as NC goes, I don't know your state laws, but I don't think even NY or CA have limits on the amount of ammo you can possess.

If you're buying up all the supplies at a bunch of places, the rest of us might get miffed at you hogging it all, but it would be a first for the government to slap a maximum on it.

Other than black powder I don't think much of anything is regulated. Maybe a giant number of primers or something like that.
