With my Kahr 40 its 6+1 tube and one 6 mag.
With Sig P-229 its 12+1 tube and one 12 mag
Sig 4 10 round mags in the glove box. I just had the extra mags.
13 +1 in my Para LDA Tac-Four, and two spare mags. If my math holds up, I believe that comes out to 40 rounds of Winchester Ranger SXT .45ACP Then again, maybe I aint paranoid. Some people say, "Well, I only need my weapon if I'm going into a high-risk area!" Some people say, "Well, I only need more than one reload if I'm going into a high-risk area!" People need to remember that the predators can strike anywhere and at any time. I would hate to visit a local cemetary and see this: "Here lies Joe Schmo, he was shot to death in a good neighborhood."
If thats not enough then there should be some extra guns laying on the ground by the time I run out. I guess if I'm still standing then I'll use one of them.
Glock 19, 17 rounds, will be ordering the +2 caps soon and will carry unless it makes it too difficult - the 17 round mags already stick out a good 3/4" from the base.
If I am carrying one of my single stack 9mm's or .45's one in the gun and two back ups. Hi Cap guns one in the gun and an extra for back up. Amost always in addition have my 642 or P-3AT as a BUG. So I'm paranoid. But what if they really are out to get you?
Absolutely right, but I'd carry a second magazine anyway just in case you accidentally eject your primary mag and it's dark, muddy, or rather inconvenient to your life to stop to pick it up.
I've been on vacation this week. It has felt great to be able to carry very light!
Around here, I use a primary (either G17 or XD-45 ACP) with 2 spares, and the Kel Tek .380 with 1 spare. What a difference.
Of course, you can't throw a stone and not hit a police car where I live. Big difference location makes. And that fact tells me, I REALLY need to change jobs (location).
I'm also a private pilot. My flight instructor once told me he 3 most useless things are the fuel left in the truck, the runway behind you, and the altitude above you.
To relate that to CCW.....the most useless thing is the ammo left at home. I think I need to carry more than 5 in my Smith 642 and a speed strip of 5.

I carry a springfield XD in 40 caliber with the 4 inch barrel. I got mine before the clinton gun band sunset so I have 2 10 round mags. I carry one full of Hornady 180 grain XTP's, and the spare mag holds Federal hi-shoks. Sometimes I don't carry the spare mag, just from forgetting it. At my CHL class at the SHERIFF'S OFFICE, they recommended finding pre-ban hi-cap mags and carrying 1 in the gun and 4-5 spare mags at a minimum. Stating that 60 rounds total was a good starting point. Interesting.
