I bought my first one a a gun show about 3 years ago for 139. It was so good and hidden under the dirt and scratches was a fantastic piece of flame walnut.
Needless to say it sparked my interest so I got my C&R and quickly bought 5 more (makes two stacks) Those I shopped on internet dealers and got pretty good ones, although not as pretty as the first, but only paid 69-79 ea and this was two years ago.
Now I am seeing prices from some of the better internet dealers entering the $400 range, so if you find one for less than 200 grab it. The stock will probably look horrible, this is normal, look for decent metal, magazine and bolt serial number should match the receiver. Bores are generally good as the Swiss never used corrosive ammo, but it won't hurt to look.
Of all the mil surps out there they are my favorite. It does not hurt that they are one of the most accurate. I also got an older 1911 Schmidt Rubin long rifle and recently shot a 1.25" group at 100 yards . I'm hoping that I can duplicate that the next time I take it out.
