What I have is a pre was 32HE. Some one many years
ago thought it was a good idea to blue the hammer and
trigger. Need to know how to get the blue off. Would like
to do it myself. Thanks for helping.

Almost any place that sells cold blue also sells blue remover. But note that it is acid, so swab it on, leave it only a few seconds, and then wash off. Repeat if necessary, but leaving it on too long will cause pitting of the surface.

If the hammer and trigger were originally case colored, the blue remover MIGHT remove the color as well; I don't know as I have never tried to remove blue over case color.

I used evaporust to strip the remaining bluing off an old 38. It worked far better than I would have imagined. I actually was just trying to take the rust off the frame and side plate and after a 24 hour soak the rust and all bluing was gone. They I had the whole thing ceracoated. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.

Right, the blueing remover is the same as rust remover, and like someone already stated, if you remove rust, you may expose pitting.
then again, blueing is a form of rust, just it spins it up to ferric? oxide instead of Ferrous oxide.

when you got access to a ultrasonic cleaner .
a solution of vinegar and water , prefferably hot , will defintly remove the blueing of your parts.
