When you find out, let me know..
Not gun related but is border related. Regardless if you
consider WND a viable reporting source, still this
creeps me out.

As London recovers from the latest deadly al-Qaida attack that killed at least 50, top U.S. government officials are contemplating what they consider to be an inevitable and much bigger assault on America – one likely to kill millions, destroy the economy and fundamentally alter the course of history, reports Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

According to captured al-Qaida leaders and documents, the plan is called the "American Hiroshima" and involves the multiple detonation of nuclear weapons already smuggled into the U.S. over the Mexican border with the help of the MS-13 street gang and other organized crime groups.
However rest assured if this happens the Gov will be
fine. >

According to the author, the news sent Bush "through the roof," prompting him to order his national security team to give nuclear terrorism priority over every other threat to America.

However, it is worth noting that Bush failed to translate this policy into securing the U.S.-Mexico border through which the nuclear weapons and al-Qaida operatives are believed to have passed with the help of the MS-13 smugglers. He did, however, order the building of underground bunkers away from major metropolitan areas for use by federal government managers following an attack.
Yep, that ole warm cozy feelin'..

*SIGH*

Given the lengths the fedgov went to protect itself from a nuke during the Cold War I am not surprised at Bush -- or any president -- for this.
The bitter fact is that if a nuke is detonated in a major city, it will muck our economy good, the Dow Jones will lose @80++ of it's value, and lots and lots of people are gonna be scared *****-less.
Anyone who thinks the fedgov is gonna be able to do much to ameliorate these conditions...just remember Katrina and Nawlins and what a wonderful job local state and the idiot fedgov did in helping out there.
Face it, "American Hiroshima" goes off, we'd better be prepared to save ourselves -- whatever that means in the circumstances, 'cause the govt. is gonna stumble big time no matter if they survive...or not.:fire:

Call me naieve, but if they actually had them, wouldn't they have used them a long time ago?

I've really never figured out why Americans are so in love with the nuclear holocaust fantasy...

Ditto, Nio.

If you're a terrorist bent on harming the USA, and you have a nuke in the USA, you don't wait - especially years - to set it off. This "American Hiroshima" thing has been wafting around for a while. I've heard a bunch of arguments for waiting, and they're just silly.

The idea is attractive to Americans because it would make a really impressive news cycle. We've seen too many movies.

Wolf,
Surely they're trying, and the concern is viable in the long run. There's a difference between "they're working on it" vs. "they're ready and just waiting for the right time to push the button."

Meh. I call BS on it. The reference to MS-13 makes me very suspicious. They show up in half of today's paranoid suburbanite myths.

At another forum where we were throwing this back & forth,
a member there mentioned terrorists seem to prefer meaningful
days for things like this..Such as X-Mas. You have to
admit that would be a pretty meaningful day for
things to go thermo nuclear. On the Lord's birthday
in many religions.... :what:

Just because they haven't succeeded doesn't mean they're not trying.

Always remember the point of Terrorism is not body count, it's the fear and instability it puts in the mind and actions of your enemy.

One successful large attack (9/11) allows you to say all kinds of crazy things for another 8-10 years without having to actually DO anything, and people will still be afraid and alter their lives.
