Me living in the great and wonderful country that is england means i can have a sound suppresor on everyone of my rifles (which i do):neener: but while looking through the internet i came upon these http://www.saddleryandgunroom.co.uk/Gunroom/SG_Hushpower.htm and the sporting gun review which you can read here http://www.saddleryandgunroom.co.uk/Gunroom/hushpower/Ed_Cooke_review.htm were they shot over 500 rabbits in one night!!! but im not sure what gauge would be best for rabbits as i only have large and small bore rifles one shotgun for clays and my lurcher:cool:. any feedback on what gauge to get would be appreciated as im a novice when it comes to shotguns

Those are amazing shotguns, I really enjoyed firing a US made reproduction. Subsonic loads and it's wonderfully quiet.

A .410 will do the job for rabbits, for certain. :)

cheers for the reply was it easy to aim? it looks like a bit of drainpipe lol
going to look at a Mossberg 5 shot on Thursday

They're surprisingly light in .410, and it was easy to aim, at least it seemed so for me.

MCgunner we only have to pay £50 for a firearms or shotgun licence or £60 for both You have to specify what calibre rifles you have and reason like mine says 22lr vermin .223 fox and target ext ext. and you can have as many shotguns as you like without having a reason
pistols are a no no unless you target shoot but in areas people are slowly getting them on and around wild boar farms there escaping :)
I have 7 rifles upto 338 lapula and my shotty.
you can even get 50BMG down for target shooting so i really dont se why people complain about the british gun laws ..........apart from the lack of pistols

Hiho, where do you keep your rifles? What would happen if you were to use one of your firearms to defend your self against someone intent on killing you?

rifle are kept in a cabinet next to my house and if i were to use one on someone with the intent of killing me i would just plead self defence when your own life's in danger i wouldn't care about how the police view it because i live in England the one place were you can get a pizza delivered to your house faster than the police

Well, in this country, we're used to having the second amendment. It's considered a God given right to own a gun, so that's where the rub is with any gun laws, for most of us. I have 20 some handguns in my collection and 20 some long guns not including air guns. I even have a CCW permit to carry handguns, which requires a bit more loops than owning a gun over there, I reckon, 15 hour course, 140 bucks, background check, finger prints, photos, lots of paperwork that must be notarized. So, I understand red tape. :D A silenced gun over here, though, requires a background check, 200 dollar tax stamp, and a little wait (normally about three months) while the BATF drinks coffee and procrastinates. :D BUT, to HUNT with one is a state, by state thing and in Texas it's a no, no, yet you can hunt with a bow or crossbow. Hmmm.....

There IS no country devoid of gun laws I guess. It would be kinda cool to have a silenced shotgun, though. It would be easier on my old ears in the duck marsh, if nothing else. :D I'd need more'n a .410, though. See, we got this STUPID steel shot law for waterfowl over here....

Ya Know, you probably could get yourself a Island and keep your full auto suppressed sbrs there...

. so do we
Might be a bit of topic but whats your laws on night shooting with lamps or NV and do any of you use lurchers

Varies by state....here in CT nighttime hunting is limited to varmints and .22lr and smaller; of course, they think the .17HMR is smaller.

In Texas you can hunt hogs all night with a .308 or whatever

Are suppressors in England over-the-counter items? or do you need all sorts of paperwork, or to own land, etc.?

just on your lisence like 22lr rifle then 22lr sound moderator no problem getting that on any of my guns

the ones for air rifles are over the counter but you do get a few 22lr/22 air rifle moderators which im not sure about
