I don't want a Sig P365. Tell me why I'm wrong or offer options.

I had a P365 and didn't care for it. I have a P365XL and a Shield Plus. They both ave terrific triggers and both shoot superbly. The one I find easiest to carry and fits me the best is the Shield Plus. It conceals a little easier than the lengthy XL.

Now that is interesting! What does "more grip" mean? More girth or better texture?
Both, actually. The grip swells and has more of a beavertail. It makes the grip feel a bit larger in the hand which for me is good. The front and back straps are very aggressive (like sandpaper). The sides are grippy but not sharp which I am glad for against skin.

That said the stock XL grip is very good also. If the WC grip module didn't exist I'd happily use the stock grip.

I didn't like the 365 with the 10 round mags when it came out, not enough grip for me to hang onto and hit the same place twice in a row.
Then they had the Tacpac which had 3 of the XL 12 round mags with spacers, that was better so I bought it.
Shooting it was no problem, kept pinching my palm on mag changes though.
Picked up a Sig XL grip mod and a Hogue sleeve and don't have that issue anymore.
Bought an XL slide assy and a Romeo zero to try out with it.
Sold that off, I like the 365 XL grip and 365 slide much better.

Now you can just buy the FCU and plop it in few different grip mods, plastic and aluminum.
Few more options for the slide now too.

I had or better yet the girlfriend had a p365. Both of us hated that pistol. She went through a case of ammo, which is 1000 rds, and two 2hr one on one classes with a Madison, WI SWAT guy who moonlights as a pistol instructor and could never get that pistol to work for her.

She rented a Shield Plus and within a few mags was performing awesome and had confidence with that shield.

That P365 got flushed down the drain.

Bought an Equalizer and am happy with it. I tried it and the 365 and could not see any difference so I put a few hundred in my pocket and bought the Equalizer.

Local to me, the Equalizer with 3 mags is $499 and the Sig P365XL with 2 mags is $599. Of course, the Sig can get even more expensive with the available "upgrades".

The Ruger EC9s is often overlooked. You could buy 2 of them for about the same money.

FWIW I have a 365 and a G43. I like both and go back and forth. I like that the Sig holds more rounds, but there is just something about the Glock that keeps bringing me back to it. I have one mag fitted with a +2 extension getting me to 8+1 which is closer to the Sig's capacity.

A G48 or G43X might be something to consider. I know a lot of guys who say the G48 is the perfect carry gun. I'm not convinced yet. It's about the same length and height as a G19, but being a single stack is a lot thinner. Factory mag is 10+1, but there are aftermarket 15 round mags available for it.

Hopeless P365 fanboi. They multiplied like rabbits among our Sunday night shooting crew; one guy had one, and a month later, we all did. Down the rabbit hole we went.
We discovered they had decent ergos, the OEM sights were fine, the recoil was relatively mild, especially for such a small 9mm. The triggers are revolver-like, rather than a hard break, but the metal trigger avoids the 'plasticky' feel of most striker guns. Really one of my favorite trigger systems.
Personally, I've stayed with the 10 round iteration, with a 12 rounder carried as a spare. The basic P365 can be pocketed especially when using an Alabama kydex. I have a couple, one wears a Wilson 10 round, which feels good, but does add a little girth.
Our collective experience has been the darn things just work, and you can hit things with them. Our last holdout, a dedicated Glock guy, has finally acknowledged their goodness.
Don't worry about following the crowd, there's a legitimate reason for that crowd.
BTW, I've added the manual safety to mine, but only use them for administrative tasks...putting them, loaded, in the lock box, putting it on the shelf above my bunk at camp.

The XMACRO is a great pistol and the P365 is so modular and customizable that it doesn’t have to be ubiquitous, you can mod it seven ways from Sunday and truly make it yours.

This is my FrankenSig P365 with Armory Craft optic ready, comped slide and pinky extensions on the mags, XL grip, Sig flat trigger. This gun is an amazing shooter.

But if that doesn’t float your boat, maybe a Canik MC9. Optic ready, 12 and 15 rd mags, great trigger. I think this might be a better shooter than my P365.

My edc is the 365XL and there is nothing I don't like about it. Handles well, accurate and 12 rounds in the mag. 15 rounds as a back up. I put the Wilson grip module on mine as upgrade and little fatter grip. Flat triggers are my personal preference these days. The EPS Carry tops it off. I doubt I will ever switch to anything else I like it so much...

I had a P365 early on and sold it but honestly probably didn’t give it enough time. The size was really nice.

I agree that all the modern small carry guns are great…P365, Hellcat, G43/43X/48, Shield. I’d carry any of them. I choose to carry a Glock 43X but the stock Glock has not got the refinement of the others IMO (and I am a Glock fan).

I’ve gone back and forth. A recent pistol class with instructor Chris Cerino gave my wife and I some very good insight, and opened my mind to some interesting ideas about a carry gun. I shot my G19-5 in the class and my wife who has not shot much in the last few years shot a G48. The plan going in was for me to shoot the G48 and her shoot the 19, but that changed early in the class.

Anyway, the biggest epiphany I had was how important a good trigger can make things better, especially for less experienced people.

Second thing I’m considering is a compensator…and the real difference it makes in follow-up shots. I had the opportunity to shoot a Shadow Systems G19 clone with the Radian Arms compensator. Wow! What a difference!

Then, during a more recent Carbine class, one of the assistant instructors let my wife and I shoot his P365 Macro Comp. Dang it…what an amazing gun!

So all this brings me to thinking about really committing to a really good carry gun. I keep coming back to two different options…

1. Sig P365 Macro Comp. $820ish. Definitely the easy button. Mags cost a lot and I like having at least five. A P356XL Comp would be another alternative…and allow a bit more discrete carry while still taking larger mags.

2. Glock 43X MOS modified with a Radian Arms barrel and comp and a Johnny Glock 4311 trigger. I can modify one of my own guns and would only need the Radian Arms comp/barrel. But buying new would be as much or more as the P365.

3. Another out of the box option (for me) might be this:

The Shield Plus and the Hellcat are absolutely good options too, just not for me at this time.

The time is coming that I want to replace my 14 year old Glock 36 with something that is easier to rack the slide. At age 59, I still have enough hand strength for the G36, but I'd like to get something that would ride with me for another 14 years or more.

...as much as I appreciate Glocks, I really want my next pistol to point like the P365, CZ75, 1911, etc. And I'm discounting the CZ75s (already own one) due to me wanting a larger grip area on the slide.
:D

Beretta PX4 Compact Carry? I am very impressed with the Langdon Tactical version. Plus, it has a hammer which I prefer and g-model decocker.
The PX4 Compact is worth considering

Why you should stop resisting being one of the crowd and choose the P-365.

Sights are easy to shoot for old eyes.

Shoots "bigger" than it is, recoil is not as much as I expected, softer than expected.

Very accurate and easy to shoot well, especially for a small gun.

Feeds, fires, ejects pretty much flawlessly. As always, test your carry ammo.

Fits my wide, short to medium length, hands perfectly. I shoot the 10 round mag as well as the extended 12 round, surprised me there.

First range trip with a variety of ammo, never missed a beat, from round one. (Yes, it replaced the very nice S&W Shield for me)

Try one out and see if it is the gun for you. The great news is the options are so good these days. :)

Yes indeed. My neighbor has one and he let me shoot it some time ago. It shot better for me than I expected.
Same here, shot "bigger" as I posted.

The Equalizer was totally off my radar. Interesting.
The S&W EZ .380 is definitely easy to rack, but the P-365 isn't very hard IMHO. The EZ has a nice trigger and shoots well.

My SIL bought one and my wife liked it so much I bought her one. Nice guns, but bigger than the P-365.

Geez, what did it end up costing after throwing away so many stock parts in favor of aftermarket or other model stuff? I see that sort of thing all the time wrt P365 and Glock.
