So after shooting BE for a couple years, I have up until this point only shot rimfire matches. But between me and Jackofalltrades (mostly him prodding me) we have decided to compete more traditionally. So yesterday for the first time I shot my .45 for score(it was a practice match). We had planned on shooting a RF 900, and a CF 900 but ran short on time so we shot a RF 900 then a CF 600. Not only was it the first time I shot my .45 for score, but it was the first time I had shot SF at 50yds with RF or CF. I was not extremely disappointed, but not overly happy either, but I know I will get better. I ended up shooting a 531 in the CF 600, like I said not terribly dissappointing, but way below my RF avg. I am going to shoot again on Sat. before we drive down to a regional match on Sunday(talk about jumpin in with both feet!) so hopefully it will be better yet. One of the biggest things I struggled with was how much longer it takes to get back on target in TF/RF, it made me feel rushed, and for SF I have to get used to a 3.5lb trigger, instead of a 2lb trigger, but I plan to do some dry firing this week at home. Anyway that was my weekend in a nutshell not great but positive anyway.

I wouldn't complain about a 531 first time out; 540 is Expert. Good job. That 50 yard slowfire is fun, right? :)

Good luck at the Regional. Do you have a hardball gun to shoot the EIC match?

I don't think I am gonna shoot the hardball match, and yeah I'm not too terribly dissappointed, like I said I have a long way to go to catch up to my Rimfire avg. But I am not beatin myself up too bad. Of course it was friggin freezin yesterday, and I didn't shoot great even with my .22 still in expert but not upper expert like normal.

Testar77 is a better shot than he gives himself credit for..

We've had trouble figuring out a failure to eject issue with his rimfire gun, else he really would have given me a run during winter rimfire league. Something like a .5 point average away from second place over-all.

His wad gun is a built Be Colt 1911 with a crisp trigger that is as accurate as any of the best. But with iron sights, He'll admit he's flawed. So, with a loaned frame mount and none too perfect red dot, a somewhat rushed install, some epoxy for a tight fit, then hardening next to my wood stove the night before... I think he's kinda forced to buy that mount now. He out shot me! Rimfire and Centerfire.

I think he'll do quite well at the next match.
