wow.
well, seems very likely you averted some majorly hopped up amatuers, but nevertheless, i bet you did avert a bnak robbery.
EVEN mroe WEird= i think my freaking bank got robbed today.
i hope not, but the police had 3 blocks closed off around it a little while ago
(before closing), hard to tell what it really was . there's another bank where mine is. that would be odd though. not much else there worth that many police
big day for breaking banks.

but i would be pretty cautious pullnig out a gun on some BANK robber.

you have no clue who else is waiting with him with a shotgun, and criminals might care less if you take their partner hostage.

this sounds like a real dope addict from the freaky actions, and the funny thing is SO MANY people would have been afraid, when all you had to do was stand tall. he probably never noticed your gun, just YOU.

if more people carried themsleves the way you described this whole thing, there would be A LOT less crime.

most robbers are punks.

ps- wasnt there some movie where guy tries to rob a bank and everyone in the bank has a gun of their own???

good guys are probably encouraged to carry in banks

I hate to think what I could be capable of in an armed robbery situation. I surely wouldn't try heroics where my death is almost certain. Special situations could dictate CCW still permits me no advantages over a gun wielding nut.

CCW is a wildcard ...

It can to be used only once per deal, and once shown, it better be with you having the winning hand, therefore, use extreme caution before exposing your defense(s). Once exposed, either unintentionally or not, you will be committed to an act of fighting for your life and the lives of others. There's no taking back on the display of your pistol any more than there is returning a bullet to its cartridge once fired. At this point, Iron Up!

Situational Awareness Can Make a BIG Difference

Anyone of us who has ever had to drawn his or her sidearm due to "The Feeling" when it moved from just intuition to probable cause to a legitimate fear of imminent death or serious bodily harm from a person who was capable and apparently willing can testify that "The Feeling" very real.

I believe in and practice Situational Awareness daily. Of course, when I'm outside my routine commute, etc. it becomes even more heightened. However we should all be 'Aware' and 'Ready' without being 'Paranoid' and thinking there's a bogeyman behind every bush.

Congratulations and Hats Off to the poster who let his intuiton increase his awareness and turn up to activity in which he engaged in the incident that led to his posting.

Stay Safe, Be Aware and be Ready.

Look at the bright side, At least I put some thought into this instead of leaving you all with a bunch of words strung together in CAPSLOCK. Admit it, You laughed, You found it humorous.
