What if some of your favorite semi-auto 'home defense' guns are made illegal within one or two years, by Senators Schumer, Nancy Pelosi ('Hanoi Jane wannabe'), Biden etc and their willing puppet on a string, Obamanation?

Would a duplicate rifle at least have a resale value at or above today's average purchase cost? How about an AR-15?
If I had the money, it would be to invest in about ten SKS, AKs or a combination, in order to spite the Marxists within the US Senate and as something to barter for extra ammo.

You should have all the rationalization you need with the upcoming elections to get an AK variant and some type of 308 battle rifle like an M14, L1A1 or AR10 and plenty of ammo and extra magazines for them and your existing AR. If not one of those, then maybe a pistol caliber carbine autoloader with extra clips.

Sammy, I am in NorCal and I have a CCW. It is not that hard, all depends on what county you live in. Move. Hint: rural counties are best. Regards.

:confused::confused::confused:

I thought you said you already had plenty of guns ?:confused:

Come to your senses, Man !

You don't have a...

Marlin 1894 in .357 or .44

Remington Model Seven in .260 Remington

Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum

Thompson/Center Contender handgun (w/four dozen barrels)

Winchester 94 in 30/30

Marlin 336C in 30/30

Ruger #1 in .243

Browning BLR in 7mm/08

:banghead:

Get Busy, Dude !

Regarding the CCW, I'm a Wisconsin Resident now, but am anticipating a move to MN within a year or so.

All good suggestions, I just thought of a new one. How bout a good quality airgun in the $300 range. I know RWS makes some good ones. Might be kind of fun for small game hunting and with the low cost of pellets, it would probably pay for its self in a couple of years.

i am at a dead end, too. but i have every gun i want, unless i saw a good deal on a colt sauer rifle,no big emergency for it,or if something cought my eye at a good price in a gun shop, the only stone unturned is the bushmaster ocr or fn scar,if they ever come out...

Here, this will help:
http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/fredgraph?chart_type=line&s[1][id]=BASE&s[1][range]=5yrs

It's the M1 money supply chart from the Fed, showing that they just printed us into a hyperinflation. It won't work it's way through the fractional-reserve system till next year, but your money is safer in guns than in dollars. Plus, you'll get some good deals from the starving unemployed around Christmastime, so enjoy! (Hope the starving were helpful enough to stock up on .260, though, it's kind of scarce).

Oh, and you might want to get some good gas and bio protection stuff... the .gov may feel the need for more distraction pretty soon. They certainly don't want the blame for all this monetary theft falling where it belongs :uhoh:

You don't have a 1911-type .45 Auto? What's wrong with you? Get with it!

That .357 would be money well spent. The .357 is kind of like the 30-06 of pistol cartridges: It'll do damned near everything.

A bolt action .260 would be a good choice, but I see one empty space in your lineup: you don't have an MBR. Your AR15 is a fine carbine, but a main battle rifle is a great thing to have. I also whole-heartedly support your caliber choice on the .260, so why not satisfy both at the same time? The DPMS in .260 is a great gun.

Not to hijack the thread, but Sam700 asked:

Threeband, what does an Garand go for these days from CMP.

Service Grade is $595. (probably the best all-around choice. Good shooter, may have a replacement stock. Mine does.)

Field Grade is $495 (Might be the best deal: should be a good shooter, but a little rough. Maybe a good, easy project gun?)

Correct Grade $950 or $975 (Very hoity-toity, perhaps a bit over priced. Bound to be very nice, with a GI stock that may still be dinged and gouged- mine is, a bit.)

Anyway, check it out for yourself:

http://www.thecmp.org/m1garand.htm

Note, their descriptions tend toward the worst case. Your rifle is likely to be better than what they describe.

We now return to the legitimate thread.

Sam,
Are you a pilot by chance? I've seen the USP offer for pilots, in fact a few of my friends have done that. Only 'problem' is the law enforcement versions don't have the safety... if you mind.

I was interested in that as well, hard to pass up such a deal... till I shot one and didn't like the trigger feel.

Good luck!

You need a 1911. Its the law.

You should also get an AK. After all the spare parts dry up for your other guns because the left-wingers finally managed to ban everything, the AK will still be functional enough to pass on to your grandchildren.

Trying to rationalize the need for another gun is like trying to rationalize the need for ice cream. Sometimes, when I'm in a gun store, I revert to being a 6-year old tugging on mom's coat and screaming "I want it!!"

N3810F, you're correct, that's the discount I'm after. How much of a hassle was it for you're friends to get the discount?

I see no Com-Block weapons. You need either a:

1) AK-47-pattern rifle, because your AR-15's gas system is unreliable while jam-packed full of sand, crud, dried blood, and animal parts.

2) 7.62x39 AR-15 rifle, because 5.56x45 doesn't penetrate obstacles as well as 7.62x39, it is 2x as expensive as 7.62x39 and an AK is less accurate then an AR-15

3) A Vz-58, because AK-47 is heavy and inaccurate, the 7.62x39 AR-15 needs cleaning, and you need an accurate reliable com-block chambered rifle.

4) An SKS, because, you have no SKS, what's wrong with you anyway? :p

5) Nothing scares anti-gunners more then the "Автомат Калашнйкова Модел-1947."

Dude, get the CZ452. It will give you an appreciation for rimfire your 10/22 never can.

You should definitely buy some evil weapons while you can. Get a Glock 17 and a 33 rd mag + 17 rders. Maybe a WASR-10/63 or a Saiga and 30 rders. Or get a backup AR (or stock up on mags for the one you already have).

It sounds like you've forgotten one of the fundamental rules of shooting and owning rifles: 2 is 1, 1 is none. And frankly, I don't know how you sleep at night without a pair of AKs. :D
