But there is just something about a revolver that makes me a fuzzy....When I see an old used model 10,or some beat up wheelgun,I can't help but ask to see it.And in movies, when anyone uses a revolver instead of the usual auto,it makes me smile:D
I've started shooting my revolvers more in IDPA...so much so that a relatively new guy didn't even know I shot anything else....call me old fashioned...I just like them;)

I see actually nothing wrong with revolvers. At times my S&W 13 is my CCW. It will eat everything from my .148gr WC's with 2.7 gr. of Bullseye up to my 170gr. FMJ's with 12 gr. of 2400. Revolvers are great for introducing non-shooters to the range, it's not like and auto loader with it's multitude of releases and safeties. And I figure it can take care of most of the predators I'm likely to encounter.

Never shot my revolver in IDPA, but I ought to I guess, much as I carry one. I ain't worth a toot with speed loaders, though, never have been. I should practice that, I guess.

I do love the simplicity of a revolver and the watch like qualities of the mechanism, though. Always was a round gun kinda guy. I have a particular affection for single actions. Guess it was all the westerns in my youth.

I actually shoot a 2" revolver for IDPA.I figure if I'm gonna carry one I may as well get used to shooting it defensively...it is definattely a challenge. On the nights that I run the COF I make it Revolver friendly.I use the Safariland speedlaoders and the HKS( the Safariland are waaay faster)..
last week I shot IPSC w/ the little guy....I did horrible time wise, but alot of people commented on how accurately I shot it.It's nice to have the "auto-only"guys make comments like that.
If you're in IDPA to win big, stick w/ the autos, but for fun and "street-realism"(as real as it can get shooting at cardboard guys that don't shoot back)try the gun you carry...

TonyB, I've got the same attitude about IDPA "competition". I think of it more as practice and that's why I've shot my Kel Tec P11 there a few times. If I can do decent with a gun there and it's 100 percent reliable, it gives me confidence in it and that's half the game in shooting IMHO. I shoot better times with bigger guns, but I carry that P11, so that's what I ought to be shooting. The short sight radius is what slows me down with it. It's harder to get it on target than the bigger guns.

I should shoot my revolver more in competition, but I haven't shot any competition in a couple of years, just been busy. I still shoot a lot, just haven't been doing any competition.

I'm with ya

There's just some style to it. To me, the newest black plastic 30-rd hicap auto is like a lamborghini.. but an old k38 with blue wearing off the muzzle is like your indestructible and immortal farm truck. There is a certain appeal to each.

If I felt comfortable with open carry, I would probably sport a .44 single action and teach myself to snap off COM shots from the hip. And probably carry 50 rds in shell loops on my belt. Oh, don't get me started..
