the allure of the 1911 is too great. I'm in the process of getting a used but apparently good conditioned Norinco 1911-A1 for 339.00 from a member here on the board. It is in it's stock cofiguration. I'm not sure if I want to modify it or not. I'll probably keep it stock for now. I was in the market for a GI Mil-spec style 1911 after going down a troublesome road with a Kimber that I had that was less that reliable. I didn't want to spend a but load on a 1911 to have it jam on me like that again. I think if this as kinda like testing the waters of dating again after having a cheating girlfriend except I'm not going out with the prettiest girl in the bunch  . One thing is for sure; It will get a set of real wood grips. Havaing the plastic ones still on the gun is a good indication that it may very well be unmodified. I'll post picks when I get it.

I'm no 1911 expert by any means but I wanted one too. Since I didn't want to drop the money for a Kimber, I bought an Armscor 45 and paid $369 for it. I've only have about 500 rounds through it so far but it hasn't missed a beat and far more accurate than I antisipated for a clone. At 50' I put 26 shots out of 30 in the black of a B-16 handgun target. I'm sure the Kimber is an overall nicer gun but I find it hard to belive that it can be more reliable.

Flip, chances are good that you'll be happy with your 'Rinco. I've owned several of 'em since Clinton made them "forbidden fruit" in the mid-90s. Currently there are 5 in the family. All are now wearing upgraded sights of one kind or another, and 3M stairtread tape on the frontstrap. Most of them also are sporting nicer lookin' grips than original issue. Have done nearly zilch-o tweaking/innards changing on them, as the things just seem to run and run.
