I was going to go cheap and buy a Rock Island and see how fast I could "fix" it with my trusty Dremel. Then for a few more $$ I saw I could buy the Springfield GI. Then I picked up the Springfield XD 45.:what:
The Visa jumped out of my wallet, dragging my CCW with it to eliminate any waiting (or thinking) period and before I could say "Combat Tupperware," I am the new owner of an XD.
Like a few things in life, this piece just felt sooooooo good in my hand. Off to the range tomorrow with a few hundred rounds of WWB target and some 230 gr. JHPs. We'll see.:D
I also get to sight in my newly scoped 7.62 Saiga (Yes, I'm the guy who bought the last 1,000 rounds of 7.62x39.

How sweeeeeeeet it is!:D
Just back from the range (that's Knight's Trail for Air Force Shooter). I had forgotten what a good semi auto shooter I was. This XD is a real shooter. 200 rounds of Walmart's finest WWB and not one burp...and they were all on the paper, nice and tight.
Now, it will need more breaking in for the 230 gr. JHPs. Two FTFs..each about mid-magazine..but the way this pints and groups, I'm gonna work at it becaus this can be my new carry piece.

(AirForceShooter -- I picked it up last night at Regal on Venice Ave.)

I'd ove to tell ya how well my Saiga grouped, but I'll let the target pics (to come tonight) tell that tail.

Guys, these XDs conerted and old, it's iron or I'm dyin' guy. :)
