..M16's are doing in the desert sandstorm right now? Will you guys expect some report of malfunction, or is the claim of its vulnerabilty to jam in this condition pretty much a myth now?

I know we have freedom of speech in America...but do we have to do this EVERYDAY :banghead:

I listen to news broadcasts every day and I have yet to hear of one report of M16 or M4 failure. I think for the most part, the military has ironed out it's issues with the M16.

The one I had in boot camp really SUCKED!!! It was constantly jamming. I think it was just because it was poorly maintained before I got it. No one else's seem to have a problem. Good thing they didn't send me into battle with it.

:D :D :D
That's so you can practice up on SPORTS!!!!!!!!!
Didn't anybody ever tell you? EVERYTHING in boot camp sucks!!
It wasn't poorly maintained, it was worn out!

Longbow, I think that the reason why you got the response here is because this question is asked constantly here on this forum, it does get 'old' to read this topic over and over and over.

Where did you come by
claim of its vulnerabilty to jam
? Last this happened was in the Au Shau Valley in Vietnam.

Standard operating instructions right now is to clean all firearms twice each day.

The M-16A2 I had in basic was brand new. It had been used for only one cycle prior to me getting it. It shoot well.

Too bad that the weapon I was assigned when I reached permanent party was an old ratty assed -A1.

Worn out is right.
I was the only guy to ever qualify at Fort Leonard Wood with a bolt action rifle.
Many of you out there think that the issue of bolt actions ended after WWII, but they like to throw one in every once in awhile just to keep you on your toes.:D
But the joke was on them.
I had been shooting bolt-actions since before I could write. ;)

I heard our fighters and Apaches are jamming up in the sand storms.:neener:

Nothing runs very well in that weather.

Issue lightsabers.

Those Howitzers I saw on the news the other night seemed to be doing OK.;)
