Okay, I've been meaning to ask this for some time now, so here goes.
I have a pre-ban Olympic Arms AR that started life as an A2 carbine model - tele-stock, 16 in. bbl, A-2 upper. Now I only ever saw this model stamped in the manner that mine is at B&B Pawn Shop in Fayetteville, NC (outside Ft. Bragg) in 1992-93. I bought mine off a GI at a gunshow around the same time in the same area.
The markings are what confuse me. I know that Oly has made special runs of ARs with various stampings on the lowers for various vendors over the years, and since the fire at Oly Arms in 2000 in which most of their serial # records were lost, I've never figured out who these ARs were made for. My only other clue is a picture of Keith Edema in SOF around the same time ('93) with an AR similarly marked.
Soooo..., with all that said, does anyone else have an Oly AR stamped with the Wolf and FAY., NC marks or know for whom or what organization these were made for?
Thanks.
