ID This knife please!

I got this knife from a buddy and i need some help identifying it. So tell me if it is a good or bad knife. and how i should go by making it look nicer.

hmm, they are a cheezy copy of a ka-bar, not bad for light dity, but slender under handle and can snap

So should i go through the trouble of using it or just pitch it?

I'm not getting any hits on either the stamp on the blade or the manufacturer that match the picture. Looks like a Ka-bar knock off. If it were mine I'd scrub the blade, get the finish off of it and re-finish it, put a nice edge on it and use it. Looks like a good sturdy blade. Looking at the pics of the handle again, though, I can see it's not full tang, and looks like if you bear down on it it might break fairly easily. If you decide to pitch it PM me and I'll give you an address to ship it to. (I'll pay shipping... I like knives of all kinds, cheap or not)

Looks very much like the cheaper than dirt bowie I got for $8. I split the handle battonning. The blade is really solid though and it takes a super nice edge. I've been meaning to rehandle it but I'm not exactly sure how. I was thinking about using leather washers, but the tang situation is kinda strange. I'll make a thread about it soon.

edit: double checked the pics; it's the exact same knife. I'd either rehandle it or just ducktape it up real tight. I'll post pics of mine shortly.

btw - doesn't look so much like a Kabar knockoff, TO ME, as it does an Ontario Freedom Fighter series knockoff.
