I see your point. At the opposite end I spent way to much of my miss spent youth around them. When I was 20, seems like yesterday, I knew that it was a combination/commision design gun. Production people where in love with all pressed sheet metal LMG's of WW2. So we have a sheet metal receiver ass. with trunion at the hard points barrel and trigger support, German TYPE, not a real Rolex but just like, bolt groupe+ oprod and turn bolt plus the MG-42 feed arm/ top cover and not to forget the American fascination in 1950's with the floating piston. To the victors go the PAT.#'s.
I could wast a lot of spce on the ups of each and downs as with a flosting piston, It's not connected to anything you can pull or stomp with your boot, but I remember so few and it's nap time for us here at the home. The best would be the feed/topcover a direct MG-42 copy with the BORNO/CZ ZB serries (BREN GUN) barrel change design a close second ( MG42 barrel change would have been better).
You can devide each of the peoblems into the item then small er sub-problems causeing stoppages.
After I have my prunes I will come back and check this post and talk about the came groove in the op-rod. See evey thing has it's up and downs. Like none adjustable front sights so you had to remember your off clicks for your second barrel. That was fixed in the MkIIIA something later by unit organizations.
