After being thrown around on the "IDPA Forum" site for a while the "Postal Match" is finnally off and running. If you don't know what a postal match is, it's a set of COFs (four in this case) that are set identically at any match any where in the world. Shoot the stages and submit your scores to a central data base and compair your score to a much bigger shooter base than just your local club. If you are a local IDPA MD or know one, log on to,
www.beachbunnysoftware.com/idpa/postal1.htm for the info and COFs.
Or check out the IDPA Forum under "Match Chat" Postal Match for info.
YOU may be WORLD CHAMP

TTT, 4 clubs have shot it so far, and another 6-7 have it scheduled

I shot it last Sunday. I blew stage 2? (I shot them completely out of order. The stage I blew was the six-target 20 yard one.) I did quite well on the other three stages.

The up date is 56 shooters so far and I know of four more clubs scheduled, (another 100 or so shooters). There's still time to get your local club involved. Talk to your MD. Donut where did you shoot it? We have no listing for a SoCal club sumitted.

I know of 2 more clubs that are shooting it next weekend - Corpus Christi & Laredo, TX

Just tried to log on to the site to post results with no luck. Anyone know what the problem is?

Beach Bunny Incommunicado

Well, after my many mutterings about my ISP... I haven't been able to access e-mail all day, website and forum don't resolve, sending mail to myself from AOL bounces, access doesn't work for the clubs who're using my space to host their results...

Soooo..... finally biting the bullet and changing providers. It will take about a week to get everything switched across, and in the meantime I ask patience.

Any e-mail can be sent to [email protected] for the time being.

We are up to over 250 shooters. You still have time to get in on it!

The postal match was a great idea, and it was administered very professionaly. Kudos to all the organizers and the clubs that put on the matches.

However, I'm just a little upset with myself because I got a procedural for dropping the baby :cuss:. It was a good call because I pretty much spiked the baby like I just scored an Arena League Football touchdown.

Otherwise I would have won my division.

Well, better luck next year. I can't wait!!!

Hats off to the organizers of this match. With few clubs and great distances between them it may be an answer for holding a Canadian National IDPA shoot. Thanks again and for opening the competition up for folks north of the border. We gained two new members and genreated a lot of interest through this shoot. Hats off, well done!

A little off topic but can someone define "slicing the pie" for me. I read a few of the course descriptions and haven't heard the term before.

"Slicing the Pie", means to engage targets in the order that you see them. Picture the shooter rounding a corner. The first target seen is engaged first, the second target seen is engaged second, and so on. Hope this helps.

Yeah, a few people at my club wasn't very nice to the baby - but I can't recal any procedurals as long as the baby was placed behind cover.

Regarding the baby, our SO's handed out quite a few procedurals for child abuse.:p We had some people get so focused on going fast that they would totally forget everything as soon as the buzzer went. People seem to forget that there is more to IDPA than just shooting the targets as fast as you can. That's my $0.02.

I did not give out any procedurals for spiking the baby doll... this time. I have in the past and I specfically warned shooters about it for the Postal. Everybody was reasonably considerate of the kid.

(Note that it is also possible in such scenarios to get a P.E. for not putting the baby down behind cover.)

WHAT ??!!! You are not susposed to shoot the targets as fast as you can ? Oh yeah, IDPA is for training and not a game, how easy I forget ! :neener:

Does anyone know if the Postal Match results are still posted or archived anywhere?
They are not at the website mentioned above any longer...
Thanks.
