I'm pretty sure there were only 2 .45 acp Lugers made. They were made for testing by the U.S. Military and were put through all kinds of toture tests. The location of the Luger .45 stamped #1 has not been found. The location of the #2 is known, though I forget where it is.
I'm pretty sure that this is what I remember from "Tales of the Gun" on the History channel.
I'm also going to steal your idea. I want the .45 acp Luger #1 that's in perfect original condition that was left in a vat of cosmoline in a warehouse.
