If you could have any firearm what would it be

For fantasy, I certainly wouldn't mind a pulse rifle, though the underslung portion was actually a pump-action grenade launcher, not a shotgun. That's the version I'd want. I'd also love one of the big-ass, strapped to your hip, auto targeting guns that Drake and Vasquez had. And I'd make sure not to fire either of them right under the primary heat exchangers.

The actual Pulse Rifle props were made from Thompsons and 870s with a bunch of SPAS-12 junk on the latter, but here's a fun thought:

The Technical Manual for the movie specifically says that one shouldn't ever depress or squeeze the nosecap of any of the explosive grenades, because it might cause them to detonate. The M41A's grenade launcher has a TUBULAR MAGAZINE. Oops.

Of course, there're beehive shells and "canister" (buckshot) shells, but I don't think I'd have much love for a weapon whose very magazine put me in mortal danger every time I load it.

On the subject of the M56 Smartguns. Heck yeah.

Of course, you could fire them near the heat exchangers, just don't hit one, or you're gonna vaporize an area the size of Nebraska. :D

Aside: What the hell good would a forty watt plasma gun be? What can you turn into plasma with forty watts? I can hardly light up my dorm cell (er, room) with 40 watts through a light bulb, and my computer alone draws about 400 through its power supply.

Dionysusigma, That .45 you posted under "close seconds" looks just like mine. :D :D :D :scrutiny: Seriously, it's a fine weapon.

I'd probably go with an ultra collectible gun, like Booth's gun used to kill Lincoln, John Moses Browning's ORIGINAL 1911 prototype, a Minigun, or any other possible collectible out there. I'd sell it off and buy a whole bunch of other guns! That's probably cheating, so I'd say either a M16 or M4.

And what's with watts, anyhow? Energy is measured in *joules*. I'll take a megajoule-class plasma rifle with optional targeting module projectiles. (Too much Doom3!)

Failing that, an RPG7.

Failing that, an M2 or a minigun.

Failing still that, a Jackhammer or XM8 in 'fire support' configuration ((shortened?) SAW barrel/magazine plus 40mm grenade launcher foregrip, not one of the 'official' roles to be filled)

Fictional Weapons

I hear you Gunny and Chrontius. I'm thinking Cameron did a little studying on what would actually make sense between making Terminator and Aliens. Though he still seemed to assume his audience is full of people that won't have any understanding of physics.

Interesting facts about the pulse rifles. Maybe Hicks was better off with that good old pump-action shotgun "for close encounters." Less chance of it exploding on him.

Though if I could really have anything I wanted for those darned xenomorph infestations that are ruining this country, it would be "Alice" from the AVP 2 video game. :D Power armor with lots of guns and a flamethrower. Oh yes...

Definitely a 5.56mm minigun. A 1,000 round case would only last 15 seconds with the RoF set to 4,000 RPM, though...

More realistically, it would be nice to get a registered M-16 lower with whatever registration junk is necessary for multiple calibers. Pair it with a .22 LR and/or 9mm upper for cheap full-auto, a .223 upper and 3-round burst sear for serious social work, and a .50 Beowulf in case of radioactive mutant zombie vampire ninja bears on meth.

Only the receiver and sear need to be registered, right?

1)m-16 or full auto ar-15. take off the stock and shorten the barrel, there's an AR pistol. replace stock, put in a .50Beo barrel... then put in a .22lr mag, barrel, and bolt... etc.
2)Glock 18
3)SG58FAL with da fun switch
4)chain-fed .308 medium automatic rifle
5)MAC-10 or Micro UZI.
6)minigun
-all the above would come with atleast 700,000 rounds of ammo because i'm not that rich.

BAR... while a hand checkered coin finished engraved double rifle from an English maker is gorgeous, you can still buy one. You won't see any new BAR's.

I blame Combat! and Bonnie and Clyde for my interest in the BAR.

A 1917 Browning with a dozen spare barrels and a half million rds of belted 06, a flunky to carry water for my evap unit and 5 to pass belts! Can't you feel the love?

I love these questions. Hmm..

1) DeLisle carbine. Holy crap I want one so badly.
2) MPSD
3) Steyr scout
4) Maybe an AR, 18" (full length gas system), ACOG, 6.8 SPC with a few hundred thousand rounds, magpul, bla bla bla, maybe a suppressor for it too.

I guess that's more than one though, so I will have to go with the DeLisle. How fun would that thing be, seriously...

Glock 18, GE minigun, HK MP5SD, or one of those 5.7 mm subguns from FN. I really gotta start playing the lottery...... :(
