If you could only have 5 handguns?

First thing first. There is no way I am going to be limited to only 5 handguns but in keeping with the OP's question I'll play.

First 2 would be in 22 LR, likely a 3 screw single six and a MK IV Target with a Volquartson trigger kit. Fun guns, not that the others aren't.
2 1911's in 9 mm and 45 ACP, Ruger or Taurus would be acceptable
1 357 magnum revolver, Smith or Dan Wesson with preference on the latter.

Wait a minute. I already have all of those. No fun in not finding new one's. :D I will have to daydream about those for a while.

I was waiting for someone to answer with 5 Glocks, lol!

Only 5???

Five 1911's then!

The difference between someone listing 5 Glocks and 5 1911’s is charity….

The Glock guy, knowing his gun will run flawlessly forever, has 4 guns he can pass out to friends and family.

The 1911 guy is hoping at least one of his guns works, but has 4 spare just in case.

😱🤪🤣😂

ETA: Just kidding!!! A friendly dig between friends, y’all! I love my 1911 brothers!

It's funny because none of the 1911's are going to run.

They're good at rusting.

Hahahaha as a 1911 and a Glock 21 owner i actually laughed at this.

Ruger Mark any .22 Target model.
Ruger single in .22 mag and .22 LR.,
H&K VP 9,
Springfield XD 40
Security six 357
Consideration to pocket .380 or ported 44 Mag. Had a scoped Super Red Hawk but not ported.

The pragmatic option. Practical guns/I gotta be well armed while complying with this restriction.

1. Browning hi power
2. PX4 compact
3. Sig P365
4. Ruger LCR
5. S&W K-22/17-x

Or

(The revolver lover)

1. Ruger Blackhawk 357
2. Charter Arms .44 Bulldog
3. S&W model 10
4. S&W Regulation Police .32 S&W Long
5. Ruger Mk II .22lr (because you need 1 semi auto for diversity, right?)

Or

(The milsurp lover… my heart not my head)

1. Colt 1903 .32acp
2. S&W Victory .38spl
3. 1911 .45acp
4. Luger in 9x19
5. Astra 400 in 9mm Largo

Let's see, I think I could do 5 handguns. The first 4 are easy.

1) Colt Government Model in .45 ACP. Definitely something modernized like my Competition model.
2) S&W Model 18 4" .22LR. You can't go wrong with a K-frame revolver if you want serious accuracy.
3) Walther PDP Compact 9x19mm. This one is new to me and still a work in progress, but I suspect I'm going to really like having a red dot on a pistol when all is said and done.
4) S&W Combat Masterpiece 4" .38 Special. Quintessential late-20th century American-handgun, easy to load for, easy to shoot well.

5) Something small enough to carry when the mood strikes? I've always had a soft spot for the Kel-Tec P-32 for this role, even though I've never owned one personally. A Glock 42 might also fit the bill, though it would be the largest pistol I could see filling this position. Alternatively I might be happy with one of the rare SIG P-230s in .32 ACP, just because my family had one in the 90s and it was sold off before I developed my affinity for .32 automatics and discovered how unusual the little pistol was.
