Anyone have it yet? Got good reviews by both liberal and conservative on Hannity and Colmes the other night. Even the liberal guy (it wasn't Alan, but some other guy) said it was interesting if nothing else and worth reading. He was treated fairly and had a good discussion with both the other night.

I plan to go out to the bookstore tonight.

So good is the book that out of the ballpark left field screaming liberals and multicultural globalists feel the need to go to amazon and scream the usual PC watchwords "Racist" "Xenophobe" "Bigot" "Mexican hater" etc. before even reading the book. That's a good sign in my book :)

Probably it will make me despise Bush and the Republicans/NeoConservatives even more than I do already. At least liberals are honest about what they believe.

PB has the guts to call it the way very few in politics want to hear it. But he has most of the American people behind him, and this issue is not, whatever Bush thinks, going to just go away. If anything a sell-out compromise (the Pence brainstorm) will make it worse. I think the election landscape of '08 is going to be stormy.

I just now returned from Books-A-Million with my copy of Pat Buchanan's book. I'm not sure I lways agree with him but he is definantly an intellect to be reckoned with.

Tommygun,
I don't always agree with him either (free trade, etc.) and that's okay. You never will agree 100% with everyone, but what is great about PB is that he is HONEST and he STICKS TO PRINCIPLES despite what anyone says. We need more statesmen like him.

he is a good writer, and knows his history...

James Polk and Andrew Jackson are highly respected by PB...
Dubya ain't...

good topic to "test" with a book, for a 2008 independent presidental run?

You're right, he is a good writer and historian. Polk and Jackson weren't THE best, but they were certainly better men than our our Conneticut Yankee playing Texan

Just picked up his book at Borders today

I am almost sorry I did, I have finished the first two chapters and I am seething.

BTW, when I first looked for it I couldn't find it anywhere in the store, the clerk had never heard of it!! I finally found two of them hidden behind a display in the middle of store.

It's #1 on the New York Times non-fiction best seller list and it doesn't have it's own display and it's hidden!!! I asked the manager why that would be the case, and he just looked at me with a blank expression.

Draw your own conclusions.:scrutiny:

Oh and speaking of Illegal Aliens

I discovered today that Charlie Crist actually supports that shamnesty that the US Senate is trying to force down our throats this year.

I am very conflicted (yes it is gun related) Charlie Crist may also be one of the most pro-gun Governors we will ever have. :)

leave the bull**** at the door!

please, im a liberal. very liberal in fact but i do love guns and shooting. i came here to have gentlemanly discussions about guns and other subjects not read post after post of nothing but disrespect for my political views. now with all due respect, if you gentlemen cant leave the politics at the door F*** YOU ALL!

See ya, rookieshooter. That stuff don't fly here. That's one of the reasons I *like* it here.

Classic liberal. Wants "gentlemanly discussions" then throws a hissy fit.

Oh by the way, this isn't an IM session. Use your Shift key properly.

If he conducts himself in real life as he has on this board, he won't see 17.

Rookieshooter,

Gun rights are all about politics. It's unavoidable, deal with it. If you can't stand someone questioning your political beliefs maybe you should examine yourself. Gun owners get questioned and many times accused of being responsible for crimes we had nothing to do with. When a nut drives an SUV through a college campus trying to run people over no one accuses everyone who owns a car of contributing or somehow being partially responsible because they also own a car. But that happens all the time with guns. Every gun owner who is very open about ownign guns has been accused of being crazy, murderous, sexually inadaquate, etc. When someone gets shot or someone goes on a shooting spree all gun owners are indirectly blamed. "Gun Culture" is blamed. Politics always get involved.

i wouldnt call that a hissy fit. that was actually very call while typing that in comparision to what i was feeling after reading all of the right wing propaganda that people post here. now i will go on about my gentlemanly way and you can go back to sitting on your front porch with your beloved "boomstick" and shoot and all the "*******" that come trespassing on your cornfield.

Gentlemanly. Liberal. And I don't even have a cornfield.

OK, theotherrookieshooter has bailed in THR.Org. Can we return to the topic of the thread? ;)

I'm gonna have to run by B&N tomorrow and see if I can pick this up. Maybe throw in a copy of Mein Kampf just the twist the tails of the Granola sales droids the Boulder B&N hires.

Its rare that I agree with PB on anything, but I have the feeling THIS is gonna be one of those times. No worries here about getting angry due to reading his tome, I'm already furious about the whole mess.

fighting fire

when you stereotype people that share my beliefs this is what to expect. sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

It makes me feel fine. How am I supposed to feel? And what does this have to do with the topic of the thread or politics or guns?

dear mr. cosine...

mr. cosine its apparent to me that you have just come in on the tail end of a long and heated discussion. now i have been hearing all the "as a general rules" about Democrats all night long and "as a general rule" republicans cant stand catholics, hispanics, foreigners, blacks, and jews. so i just thought that i would let all these conservative folks who hold their generalizations about dems so dear to their hearts know about the company with wich i surround my self with.

Rookieshooter, Here you will find firearms enthusiasts of every race, creed, color, gender and political belief . When we disagree we are obliged to state the whys and hows and form a coherent statement of our position. The use of profanity and personal attacks is not a substitute for reason.

That's news to me. I'm sincerely interested in knowing where or when that was spoken. I've been hanging around this site since December, and never once have gotten that impression.

BTW, feel free to PM me if you want to continue this discussion. I don't think it would be polite to hijack this thread any further.
