I worked at a Dunham's Sports for nearly 9 months and CAI is the 'bread and butter' milsurp dealer for them (they occasionally go to another importer if the supply line dries up and there is a demand for a particluar product); while at Dunham's, I would guess that several hundred different CAI products went out the door and I personally witnessed only 2 rifles come back (a CETME that had an incorect dimensioned magazine port & a WASR that had a lot of dried cosmoline or other protectant in the gas system that inhibited anyone from doing a disassembly of the gun (piston & bolt assembly wouldn't move); I haven't been personally happy with their rating system on a few bolt actions that I have sold or purchased;
on a positive note, I was very happy with the quality of the purchases I have made to include Yugo SKS 59/66, Mosin 91/30, Mosin M44, and a Yugo underfolding stock AK-47...
as with any major manufacturer, they will have gobs of good stuff and a few lemons; another point to remember, when they are stuck with using parts kits and trying to mesh them together with US made parts that are not OEM, there are sometimes tolerance issues to be addressed...
if you have problems, see if the retailer will give you instore credit and let them duke it out with CAI for a replacement product; if the retailer won't do that, then call CAI and explain the problem calmly and tactfully...good luck either way
