I'm pretty sure Beretta 92 mags will work in a SA XD-9.

I was messing around with my XD and tried the Beretta hi-caps in it to see if it would fit and it looks like a winner. I don't know if anyone has tried this or talked about yet.

The only problem is the mag catch cutout is not is the right place so a hole must be drilled to make it lock in place. When held by hand and manually cycled, the rounds apear to feed perfectly. I will drill one of my mags and see how it works.

The good thing about this is, you can still use them as Beretta mags as well. There will just be another hole in the mag, not a problem since it is not located where it will affect function.

I have a ton of Beretta Hi-caps like I am sure some other people do and this is a way to also have a ton of XD hi-caps without having to buy them over again. Also, Beretta sells a factory 20rd mag that would be fun in the the XD as well.

Yes berretta mags work in xd's, so do s&w mod 59's and some sig mags do too. Not all of them will lock the slide back properly though. One thing you should know about berretta mags is because they are longer than xd mags they contact the ejector when you slide them in the magwell. Ejectors have been known to break because of people slapping these mags into the magwell. Mark

Springfield sold properly modified Beretta magazines for at least a time, prior to the AWB sunset. I bought a bunch thinking it might be my only shot at reasonable capacity magazines for my XD. Bleh. Maybe mine are shoddy, but they've fallen right out the bottom of the gun a few times.

With a different cutout you can also run beretta mags in a Browning High Power.
