Hey all,
I am the proud new owner of an IMI Uzi Pistol. One of the ones imported to Phila PA back in the 1980's.
So I check the weapon out. Load the mag, chamber a round and extract the round. Function check is fine too.
However, after doing that a few times, I can no longer extract the round from the chamber. I have not fired this gun yet, all chamberings have been done with a live round and not a plastic safety bullet. It appears that the round is not being caught by the extractor. When I tilt the gun, the round falls out of the chamber with no issues. The round is not physically stuck in the chamber.
I disassembled the gun, checked the extractor and cleaned it a bit. Everything appears to be in working order, but I'm no UZI expert.
A little bit of research online yields that older UZIs have had extractor issues. I just don't know what to look for.
Anybody care to chime in and gimme a little advice? It would be much appreciated.
