i inherited a S/W 44 mag model 29-2, S/N N752299 nickel finish (i think, doesn't look stainless))...was wondering if anyone had info on it and a value to it.

Thanks

Worth about $500 in nice condition. Don't shoot alot of "mega loads" thru it, as it will need a factory tuneup sooner. They improved the lock up to take lots of heavy bullet loads in the late 80's. I shot 20,000 moderately heavy cast bullet loads (21grains 2400 under a 250 grain Keith Lyman 421429 bullet) and other before I 'wore out' my 4" model 29-2 . After getting a factory overhaul about 17 years ago I used it until my oldest son grabbed it, and still shoots it (but not like I did !) now and again.
I still have a nice 8 3/8" 29-2, and with out the box beleve it to be worth about $600 around here.

Quiknot, that is one sweet revolver you got there. The -2s are highly prized because they were the last 29s to have pinned barrels and recessed cylinders.
I think $500 for a nice one is low; N-frames prices have risen tremendously in the last couple of years.
Barrel length and grips affect value too. For instance, coke bottle grips alone are worth over $300, and they are seen on some 29-2s!
Check the online auction sites for completed auctions to get a good idea of current value.

How about a pic?

Going by the serial number, your gun was made in 1980. Depending on condition, I agree it's worth upwards of $500... but, it won't have 'cokes' on it. Those were on the very early 29s.

Value can vary wildly. The 4" will bring the most and the 8" the least. The 6" is most common (6.5" before 1978). Is it in the wooden box?

A 4" in the box will get $650 +/-, the 8" all by itself will get $450 +/-.
