I came into possesion of a Mark X in 7x57 and would like to know some history of the rifle. The markings on the receiver are, in order:
ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA, INTERARMS, MANCHESTER ENGLAND.
The action appears to be Mauser 98. The safety is marked MARK II or 11, depending on your interpretation. The barrel is 19.5" and has been crowned. Sights have been added and it has been drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The trigger has been modified to a fairly nice no creep, light action and the whole thing is dropped into a Ramline synthetic stock.
It's an excellent little shooter, short and fairly light. Great for whitetail!
Thanks...!

You guys are great! Thanks for your time...

They are actually rather nice rifles. They are built on a commercial Mauser 98 action made by Zastava Arms, Yugoslavia. Interarm distributed Mausers made by other companies. The only ones that were made actually in England were the whitworths by Parker Hale. They also sold rifles made by Howa in Japan under the interarms name. Probrobly also is fully bedded, walnut stock and has an adjustable trigger.

I have one in 30-06 and its a fine rifle, well worth buying.

Very good

My uncle has one in .300 H&H Mag. He swears he will never sell it; it is an heirloom for his grandson. It is tack-driving accurate and beautiful. The sole difficulty he has ever had with his is that if he reloads to excessive pressures, the claw extractor will over-ride the cartridge base as he tries to extract it. It doesn't happen often, and it only happens with very high pressure.

I had a custom 25-06 built on one of these years ago. Basic mauser action. I liked the one I had. I think their buisness got hurt by the balkin war.

yep , I had the parker hale in 308 ultralite, stamped j.c. penny's, also they did the same thing with some wetherby connection, and the mauser action.. there is a 6mm one that will be at the houston gunshow in a week. it's mine if I still got the bucks.
