I'm stuck inbetween two rifles with iron sights. Same rifle, one has the accutrigger for $75 more. Is it worth it? Thanks

I have a Savage with an Accutrigger, and I have to say it's damn nice. IMO, it's the best factory trigger out there. It really depends on what you want the rifle for, though. If it's just for hunting, it might not be worth it. Paper punching, definite yes.

yes.

i have one on my MK2 'match rifle'.....its fantastic, it allows you to adjust the trigger to a very light pull while maintaining a good level of safety.

IMHO, yes!

Have a Mark II FV-SR in .22 LR and Model 10 PC in .308. Both with the AccuTrigger, both amazing rifles to shoot.

The Mark II is great for everything from punching paper to pest control. I've only used the PC for paper so far. Like TurtlePhish said it might be a but light for hunting, but it's adjustable (I've kept both mine at the factory setting).

cant say yes or no, just know my Stevens 200 without accutrigger shoots dime groups. shooting is all about trigger control, including breathing, timing,....dont see how an accutrigger figures in this.

you can get a rifle basix or sharp shooter supply trigger for around 90 bucks if you want a traditional trigger with a nice pull. That's what I would do over the accutrigger in a heartbeat.

Yes, it's worth $75 IMO. Whether or not you need it, your call. If the less expensive rifle has a decent trigger, it might not matter.

If you can, try them out with snap caps. Then you can judge for yourself.

I just got my first Savage rifle and it has an Accutrigger. I am pleased with it, at least so far.

All of my Remington bolt guns have had the triggers replaced with aftermarket triggers.

get it otherwise you will kick yourself for not getting it. I pay much more to add aftermarket triggers that are of similar quality for non savage rifles.

Meh. It's conventional to say that a "good" trigger is worthwhile, but it hasn't been so in my experience. If you accidently pull on the main trigger of the accutrigger first, you can inadvertantly decock your gun. With iron sites, I don't think it's worth it, in any case.

My father's 116 has one and it's far nicer than many offered today. My daughter's new Savage Rascal also came with the Accutrigger and is nicer still but neither compares well to a good aftermarket or even my Model 70's factory adjustable trigger. Worth $75 if you wouldn't normally replace or clean up a clunky offering.

Anyone too macho to see the benefit of a well executed trigger ought to post their actual name here so we can congratulate them for all of their marksmanship awards. If anyone is interested in dropping by, I'd be happy to rough up the sear and do a quick spring change to add 10 lbs. to the pull weight. Then we can have us a friendly wager...I'll shoot my rifle.

I'm such a lousy shot, I need every advantage I can get. I've spent far too much money doing trigger jobs on so many of my guns. Except the last two, both Savages with Accutrigers.

I'll let you know in about a week. Getting my first Savage as soon as it comes in.

For the most part, Savage is trying to make their Accutrigger standard on as many rifles as they can. It was hard for me to find a rifle of theirs without one before I looked up what it was.

Yes, it's worth the $$$ if you aren't going to install an aftermarket trigger. The Accutrigger isn't close to a good factory set trigger like on a CZ but it's miles ahead of the awful junk of 20 years ago.

My Savage with the Accutrigger is the only rifle I own that I haven't changed out the trigger group.

TexasPatriot308: Surely you can agree that a light crisp trigger that breaks clean makes shooting accurately easier than a long, heavy, creepy trigger. I know it does for me...

Most serious shooters remove the accutrigger and replace it with better. I'd pass and apply that $75 towards a better trigger.

Is it on a rimfire or centerfire? On a centerfire you might just want a $90-100 aftermarket trigger, or the stock trigger (non-accutrigger) can be tuned to be pretty decent.

On the rimfire the stock trigger is pretty heavy, and the accutrigger is worth it.

shooting is all about trigger control, including breathing, timing,....dont see how an accutrigger figures in this.

???........you dont see how a trigger factors into trigger control.....?
