Thanks strat81. I read the artical, and won't shoot too much of the Remington ammo, probably will not shoot it at all since I got me some Greek ammo!
I use the Remington 150's in my Rock Island 1903. Seems to kick a bit less than other .30-06 loads. I always have some of this stuff on hand so it was the first ammo to go through my "new"M1 rifle.
Any of the commercial soft-point ammo good for the M1?
As a footnote to using comercial ammo in military style semi-auto's. Years back, 1994 or 1995, about the time the hi-cap mag ban was enacted, I was out of 7.62 NATO ammo to shoot in my Polytech M14. I gave my wife money to get some 150gr. .308 ammo from the store so I would at least have a few rounds of ammo for my rifle. The wife comes home with some 150gr. .308 OK! Came back with some Remington round-nose 150's, power-points or some such brush busters!
No matter, I eventually got some more NATO spec ammunition. Got curious if the stuff would even run in my M14. Loaded the whole box into a mag and burned it through the Polytech without a hitch!! May as well have been Portugese ball ammo!
So who says Polytechs are a finicky cheap piece of crap!!!
