Is it hard to go from G22 on duty to P228 off duty?

Carry G22 on duty and am picking up a Sig P228 in DA/SA for off duty. We used to carry the Baretta 92FS in 9mm, and I would carry the G27 for off duty so I suppose that this is somewhat of the opposite. I do not care too much for the G27 so I picked up a Sig P228. I am familar with the DA/SA action from when we carried the Baretta. How hard is it to get used to carrying a gun like the Glock on duty to carrying a DA/SA gun off duty? Thanks

Train extensively with both.

here is a drill I thought of just as a joke.
1. Bring both guns and load all magazines(you should be at the firing line) Insert one mag into gun A, but leave gun B empty. Make sure you have extra magazines to conduct this non-stop.
2. Fire gun A till empty, then immediately switch to gun B. Load and fire gun B to slide lock. Switch back to gun A, drop empty mag (from gun A) insert fresh one and fire till slide lock.
3. Drop gun A and pick up gun B. Drop spent mag, insert fresh mag and fire to slide lock.

repeat steps 2 and 3

This will give you familiarity with the controls and how each gun behaves. Increase speed of drill with each switch.

As an LE instructor, I am a proponent of your off and on duty handguns having the same action. Case in point, I shot our standard issue gun that was hooked up to the FATS machine. I normally carry a Glock which is not the standard issue (and they don't have one for FATS). I kept short stroking the trigger expecting the Glock's short trigger reset.

I like the practice idea espoused by Clean97GTI, (really like it actually) but I like carrying similar guns more. :D
