I heard that Llama went out of business. Is this one of those I went bankrupt under one name but open up business again under another? Or are they gone like the dodo bird?

Bersa/Llama is still very much in business and the handguns that they make are readily available. I don't know what they did in 2004 but they still answer the phone when you call.

I went to the old bersa llama website and contacted them by e mail and was told that LLama no longer makes guns and there is no warranty on firearms sold since they went out of business.

Desertscout:

Llama and Bersa are two different companys Thousands of miles apart. Llama is gone Closed up . It was located in Spain. Bersa is well and alive makes great firearms and is located in Argentina
The only thing they had in common was the importer and Firestorm pistols with Llama makeing the 1911 style and Bersa supplying the more modern DA autos. Firestorm was created and owned by the Importer. The selling of a companys firearms under another name is common as in Marlin/Glenfield and many others over years Even Colt bought from others with their name on it.
Please Stop putting Bersa in same sentence with Llama. They are day and night different.

A few of the old Llama handguns (Max I and Mini-max II) were available until recently as Firestorm marked products (for example, Firestorm Mini-Compact was the old Llama Mini-max II) and were manufactured in Spain by Fabrinor (the old Llama people). The were imported by SGS Imports, along with their Argentine (Bersa) double action line...
