ISSO Case Cleaning Kit

I've used it. Both the case polish and the cleaning kit. The case cleaner does a REALLY good job of getting the gunk off of brass. You'll need to rinse them in water and let them dry before you tumble. Also, you'll need to remove the spent primers too.

Yep, it works purty good, but it's expensive and I "think" there's hazardous material shipping costs too. A feller on a gun forum, I think this one, gave me a recipe to make your own Iosso. 5% detergent (dish soap), 4% phosphoric acid, and 91% water. Said that formula came from the Iosso MSDS. I haven't tried making any yet, but there ya have it.

I did not get the kit, but bought the gallon size container. I just put some in a plastic quart yogurt container, drop the brass in and shake gently till it looks clean. Then I use my fingers to strain the liquid into another same sized container. When done using it I cover the container and save it for next time adding more from jug if needed. You do have to rinse the brass well after draining it and I also put the brass into the tumbler wet after rinsing it. No need to dry it this way. It comes out of the IOSSO with a dull finish and the corncob does shine it up well. Using the IOSSO cuts the tumbling time by 75% if the brass is really stained or tarnished from what I have experienced. If the brass is tarnished brown it will clean that first layer off and really speed up the polishing in less than 5 minutes. It really takes me longer to rinse it off than it takes to dip and drain it.
There is no special HAS-MAT fee if it is shipped ground, that fee is for air so don't be in a hurry and save some $$.:D

I am now experimenting with the IOSSO instead of Lemmishine with a Thumlers tumbler that I just got. Using a couple tablespoons of it with each batch.

Thanks Guys, I will try it on some .45 brass before cleaning my .30-06 brass.
"JUST A NOTE" on the Thumlers Tumbler. I have been using the tumbler since the 70's. You can get some fine polish from Thumlers that will make your brass look great. I still have the same tumbler, had to replace the shaft bushings. Just keep a little oil on the moving parts and your good to go. And on the plus side, much, much, much less noise. If I broght home one of the other types of machines, my wife would throw me out. Hank
