I'm looking at holster's from 3 different makers that I would like some opinions on.

TT Gunleather's iwb Mike's special:

H.B.E. Leatherworks com3:
http://www.hbeleatherworks.com/

Seth's Gunleather Wraith:
http://www.sethsgunleather.com/IWB.htm

I'm wanting an iwb holster for an sp101 3.06" which will probably end up being a daily carry for me. I will probably get a owb holster from the same maker as the iwb I get as well with matching belts and the like.

Also as a side note I am aware some of the manufacturers above don't currently offer holster's for a sp101 3". This should not be a problem unless they are willing to turn down a free blue gun.

And if you have any of the above holsters please post pics of them in use, I'd very much appreciate if I could see how concealable they truely are.

Thanks,

-Ocelot

Not on your list, but I carry a 3" SP IWB with a Simply Rugged most days. With their "Inside/out" straps you get an IWB and OWB holster in one. It's incredibly comfortable and has held up very well to ~ 2years of near daily use.

Just like the post above, I can't help you with the companies you specificly asked about. But, when I was carrying my SP101 every day IWB, I used an AKJ Concealco holster.

Extremely well made, especially for the price. And he has the 3" SP101 on his list of guns for which you can order the "Readyline" holsters. That means they are the ones he can bang out and get out to you in something like 2-3weeks instead of the usual wait period.

Just something to consider.

good suggestinons, I have akj concealco for a ruger gp100 that has been treating me fairly well and I had considered a simply rugged but decided against as the holster seems on the big side for what it needs to accomplish. For this gun though (which is going off to gemini when I get back), I would like to get some custom leather for it.

If you have no expierience with the above if you have any other custom makers that you have tried and liked please list them.

Keep in mind that most any holster made for a Colt Detective Special/Cobra/Agent will also fit the SP 101.

I have both the AJK Concealco, and Simply Rugged (silver dollar pancake w/ inside out straps for my pocket size Colt) Both are excellent custom made holsters.

I don't have any experience with the holsters in the O.P... but would recommend that you ask about having a sweat shield built into your holster. For IWB carry with a revolver with a hammer spur, it's a very good idea. Otherwise the hammer may be biting at your side all day long.

The one on the left is the Silver Dollar Pancake with the straps off. This would be the same size holster as the 2" SP 101 plus its a dandy owb holster as well.

As I type this I have a 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk riding IWB in a Simply Rugged.

I agree completely on the sweat shield (I learned that one the hard way with my sp101 =/) all of the holsters in the o.p. have sweat shields.

I appreciate the ideas, but keep in mind time is of no conciquence right now. I'm still in afgahnistan and am just trying to order the holster now so it'll be there when I return as alot of custom makers have long lead times.

I believe my AJK Concealco took a solid 6 months to deliver. Wasn't a fun wait.

of the ones you have listed... the H.B.E. Com 3 with a sweat shield and shark trim looks like a nice one for a smallish revolver.

I had a simply rugged for my sp. But, I had to start carrying with a tucked in shirt. I sold the simply rugged and I have a garret industry silent thunder on order. The simply rugged was great owb and with the straps

curiosuy about another, the andrew's custom leather mcdaniel II, how is this holster, does it tend to slide on the belt or stay fairly well put?
