J Frame "Targets" ?

What size are J Frame "Targets" ?

There are J frame grips which are the same size as the frame(magnas?) and grips that fit the J frame which are considerably bigger which also fit the 686 and other L framed guns. Is there a size (J Frame Targets") that are in between these two sizes? Thanks, Anthony

Yes, the J-Frame target stocks, as supplied by Smith & Wesson were scaled to match the frame's size, and smaller the those used on K, L and N frames. Some were round butt while others were more square. Aftermarket suppliers also made similar stocks. One of out members, Robbt offers them for sale.

No J-frame stock (or grip) will fit any M686 or L-frame. What you are looking at is different styles of stocks (or grips). The Magnas are the panels that just cover the sides of the frame. The targets will cover the front strap and the bottom of the frame. There is also the bootgrip which will cover the front strap but will be shorter than the Targets and not cover the bottom of the frame.
