Jeez, and I thought a charging hog was scary.

Just watched Craig Boddington on an outdoor channel African hunting show shoot a charging elephant. He and his PH put 4 rounds into it at maybe 30 yards using large caliber double rifles, hard to tell range on an animal as big as a house and on TV. Might have been farther and the lens made it look closer. Anyway, it turned on the third shot and the PH put it down on the fourth. Was some awesome photography, practically right down the bores of the rifles..

I'm kinda glad I'm too broke for that sort of thing. I don't know if my heart would hold up to that.

A little Lady took down a LARGE bear on TV with a bow while in the same tree the Bear was interested in climbing or checking out. A bit too close range for me.

Ive learned not to watch too much of those hunt shows that come over the DTV 24/7.

There's this long haired old gray headed fart that does a show, kinda reminds me of the Crocodile Hunter. He was on today, found a huge gator, looked like 12 ft plus, was swimming with it. I don't think that moron is long for this life, either. By the gray hair, looks like he's made it longer than the Crock Hunter, though. I think he's living on borrowed time, though. LOL!

I've never really had an urge to shoot an elephant, probably because I never will be able to afford it. I'd rather watch a good whitetail/elk/turkey show. But, to each his own.

I think my favorite hunting videos were the TreeLounge videos from the 80's. I liked it when Martha would be taking a nap or reading a book and then shoot a monster buck.

Seen one whitetail shot, seen 'em all. Seen a bass caught, seen 'em all. But, it ain't often I get to see an elephant charge with such good photography. I tell ya what, that camera man didn't move. He's got one heck of a set on him, too. LOL! I like the Alaska and Africa stuff just because I'll never get to do it and it's sometimes educational. I don't know all the critters over there. My LORD they have a lot of antelope species, a lot of big game period!

Anyway, that other show is called "Savage Wild". I looked it up on the outdoor channel site and they have vid clips. The one with the hog looks interesting. It cuts off just as he's stickin' it with a spear. Guy sounds Native American of some sort, his accent/speech mannerisms. At first I was thinkin' Cajun, but he ain't no Cajun. I know Cajun. All my wife's relatives in Louisiana are Cajun. :D Then, I was thinking maybe he's Hispanic, sorta sounds a little bit Hispanic. But, then it hit me, Native American. He's gotta be Native American of some tribe or another, probably a Florida tribe considering he's doing all this stuff in the Everglades.
