When visiting the Cody Arms Museum a few years ago, there was a 2-gauge shotgun on display. It looked to be able to fire from the shoulder unlike many punt guns that had to be mounted somehow. As it popped into my head late last night, I had to satisfy my desire to find an image of it. What I came across was entirely different, but satisfying nonetheless.

At nearly $500 for a box of 10, I would call it an investment. But I doubt I would have the guts to fire it more than once.

I'm sure many of you know about it, but for those who don't, I would like to present the information here.

The 2 Bore brass and bullet next to a .700 Nitro Express.

I'd fire it....if I knew that modern medicine had found an effective way of re-attaching dismembered arms at the shoulder....

Exactly!

It seems to me that it would be more practical to buy a Lahti 20mm. I guess there must be some kind of market for this otherwise there wouldn't be a website or those finely machined bronze bullets and brass casings.

Gee, are you supposed to "lean into" the shot like with a 12 gauge? I think the best method is put the stock against a tree trunk and prepare for falling branches from above !!

Given it is a Black Powder rifle, the recoil would probably be lower than a 577 T Rex for sure, and more like a .375 given the weapon wieghs 26 lbs.

I've seen this guy on tv. He hand lathes every bullet brass and tip. He even shot it a few times. Looked like he got hit by a linebacker at full run. My 12g 3 1/2 inch Turkey loads are enough for me.

 Wow, I'd seen 8 bores and even 4 bores, but THAT'S impressive!!! The bullet is the size of a mortar, cripessake, from a shoulder-fired longarm!
