Just got a Mossberg 590A1. Couple questions

Hi all. Just picked this up today. 1 question though. Where the barrel is connected to the magazine tube, it looks like there is some white glue or something holding it together. I was wondering if this is normal? I would take some pics but my wife took the camera to school. I will post a pic later on. The ghost ring sights have the same stuff holding them to the barrel.

I have the same thing on my Mossberg 500 persuader. It's normal.

Yeah that's normal. It has something to do with the welding. I've seen it on 590s and on one 870 police mag.

I believe what you are referring to is silver solder. You can also clearly see it where the front rifle sight is attached to the barrel on the Mossbergs.
