Just how quiet are the CCI quiet .22lr ammo?

I bought some because I liked that the overall length matched that of the "regular" .22 LR ammo.
It actually cycled about 15% of the time in my Mark II, and about 30% of the time in my friend's SR22.
It wasn't super quiet in the pistols, but when I shot them through my 18" Savage bolt-action, it was barely louder than a pellet gun.
All in all, good stuff.

I just picked up a couple boxes at Walmart. As has been mentioned on the forums, they had the incorrect pricing posted at the store I visited. They corrected it after my visit.

They are as quiet as a high powered air rifle, when the CCI's are fired out of a rifle.
They are not particularly quiet in a revolver, I still wear ear protection.

After seeing this thread I picked up a few boxes to try. As I live with horses all around me these would be great for small varmints. I shot about 20rd.s as I didn't have much time. They were shot out of a standard 10/22. They sounded like a pellet gun. I have a friend that owns a SBR, w/ supposer on it useing subsonic loads it is not much quiter than the rounds fired from my 10/22. I like these new rounds & will use them often. Good move on CCIs part.

Tried some of these in my Buckmark definitely more quiet than Rem "subsonic's", but do not cycle.

I watched a video that showed the sound rating of the CCI quiet coming out of a Ruger 10/22. Sound was rated between 65 and 70 dB which is on the louder but still tolerable end of conversation noise.

Hs anyone fired them through a can yet? I'd like to see how quiet they would be through my suppressed Savage bolt gun.

I saw these on TV the other day...Tom Gresham's show. They compared to regular low power .22 for sound and velocity. Essentially the same. The CCI was a little slower, same noise level.

They are no more or less quiet than the CB that they have made forever. Just new marketing I Guess.

Marketing is always part of the equation. But the important thing about the is that they are Long Rifles with a 40 gr bullet.

I read that the accuracy is fairly good overall.

Marketing helps but people think with their wallets more. The CCI Quiet came out at SHOT show 2012, so almost a year old. Most online retailers carry it for about $3 for 50. I plan to get some so I can do some small rodent hunting in the backyard.

For those that watch them on tv or go buy what some one else said till YOU buy a box as try them in a rifle for yourself you are second quessing. Spend a couple bucks and see for your slef and don't talk about the sound from a pistol. Even a CB short is deemed loud from a short barrel handgun.

I'm sticking with Rem Low Noise .22LRHP as they are 250fps faster, actually expand a little and function all semi autos I have tried them in. They are 30% louder than the CCI Quiet which are CB like in power IMHO and do not cycle semi autos. Same price too! http://www.midwayusa.com/product/16...ong-rifle-subsonic-38-grain-lead-hollow-point
Uh Oh , looks like the old Subsonics have been dropped for these:

Midwayusa.com

Midwayusa has 500 round bricks for $26. I ordered 2 for myself last night and will see how they perform. Thats the cheapest i have found anywhere. I figured they were worth a try.
