I just picked up my new smith M&P10. My first .308 AR! Pretty excited...

A couple of questions. Will gas blocks from other 308 ARs fit? Would look to put a free floating hand guard on it. What about grips and stocks? Triggers?

Any help is great! Thanks! I'll give a range report soon!

Very nice! Can't wait for the range report. To my understanding these are a fairly new offering from S&W? Any chance you'll share the price tag?

I didn't know S&W was making them until I saw a couple references to them on TTAG. Pretty cool... I will be adding one to the wish list.

I can predict the future. My wife is going to be mad at me.

Seriously, it looks great! Congrats on the rifle. Please let us know how it shoots.

Yes to your questions. Standard AR parts will work. Throw a Geissele trigger in it.... It will put a big smile on your face.

Sigh. Just when you thought you had everything you wanted.. something like this comes around.

I've got a CMMG two stage in mine and its fine. I put. Magpul carbine stock on mine the one with the friction lock. Pretty sure its milspec. I have a green web sling, Warne tactical flat top AR rings, leupold 2-7 scope. It's a fine rifle.

I believe it has an extra spring that goes down in the grip making a swap a little more challenging.

Oh you dog, I have been wanting one since they had announced them. I have yet to see one in person, but I trust S&W. they are priced great and come with one of the best warranties in the business. Please give me a range report when you can. I bought a case of Winchester 7.62x51 147gr. FMJ's just for when I find one. Sad part is I almost sold the ammo due to giving up hope... I am envious, and also very happy or you... Enjoy that rifle, she sure is pretty.....

Are the buffer tubes interchangable with AR15s or are they different? When I get one of these rifles I'd like to put a fixed shorty entry stock on.

Last week the one here put three Remington match holes in less than half an inch at 100 yards with a Leupold 3-9 Mark AR Mod 1 scope on it.
Seems to be a nicely done gun.

that looks like a P Mag in there which is good some AR 10's take expensive mags. I wonder if DPMS makes lowers for S&W

I wish I could share how accurate the rifle is but I haven't shot any good stuff through it. I don't have any trouble holding 3 MOA at 200 with British surplus.

Buffer tube is longer so fixed entry probly won't work. You coul however collapse the stock all the way in and be pretty short.

I have been trying to find out who's pattern they use. I handled one at Academy and it was very light for a AR-10 style. I would want to own one if I could put a bigger barrel on it. It could be a cost effective platform to build on considering the price of trying to build your own AR-10 style out of stripped BCG/Upper/Lower. If you find out what kind of barrel nut they use let us know.

I have a Magpul CTR stock on mine with the thicker butt plate and a Blackhawk pistol grip. I am in the process of adding an adjustable gas block and a free-float handguard.
