I am so sorry for your loss, but am confident that the killers will spend a dreadful time in prison in WV and in hell for the hereafter.

Thank you for updating us on the case.

Im sure they will spend a good time in leavenworth. As someone who has had a family member murdered, I understand, however, there is no amount of punishment they can receive that will feel just. I feel very dearly for your loss, as everyone on THR does. Hopefully in time those woulds will heal. Things like this only serve to make us stronger.

I live in Idaho now but I grew up near that range in West Virginia (Wayne County). My family knew the pastor. That was sad. I hope the guys that did that get whats coming to them.

I find it terrible that they are still able to walk the face of this earth, be it free or not. I cannot help but wish that they may they burn in hell for all eternity. The article makes me want to throw up, and I cannot even describe the anger I get.

I can only hope that justice will bring Stephen Wilson his due punishment in December.

It never occurred to me until now...

The thought never occurred to me, until reading this tragic thread, that someone bent on committing a crime would consider a gun range an excellent place to load up on guns and ammo. Right place (responsibly exercising his rights) + wrong time = tragic ending. I doubt he had any idea something was coming his way.

The perpetrators being caught and brought to justice should hopefully provide some closure and a small measure of comfort to you and your family.

Now that they are being dealt with, forget about them to the greatest extent possible. They are not worth more than the passing acknowledgement that they will face the music for their crime.

Leave them to burn and focus your attention inward - on your family and close friends and use your collective strength to help each other heal and recover.

Thanks for sharing with us and all the best to you and yours.

Our sincerest condolences

My family and I would like to express our sorrow for your family's loss.
As stated several times already, it's good to know that these...
:cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss: scumbags will be rotting in a jail cell on the day that my great-grandkids are born.
Actually, I'd prefer to use guys like these two for some live target ballistics testing, but hey, that's just me.

Again, our sincerest apologies.

I was once at an informal range in the mountains with a buddy and we had two suspicious guys roll up in their pick-up and watch us. We kept an eye on them as I began policing the brass tarp and my friend packing up the guns we had fired. One of the meth-looking types got out and began loading up a shotgun on his tailgate and asked if "we were out of ammo yet?" That was a "what the hell?!?" type question given his current activity.

I calmly pulled out my Commander that I carry and only practice with at my formal range, and said, "All except for this one." I snicked the thumb safety off in full view of him and eyeballed him all of the way back to my truck and told my friend to drive, which I never do. We backed out some distance rather than turn tail to them. They gave me the heebie jeebies something fierce.

The only time in my life I have ever "brandished," and I don't regret it at all.

Never run dry at an informal range.

Our system

These guys should be shot exactly like their victim was. There should be eye for an eye justice for scum bags like this.

This truly saddens me. My condolences and my prayers go out to you and your family.

As someone above me said, do not waste your time or energy on these individuals. Focus on God, your family and your friends, for they are the ones that matter.

I'm very sorry for your loss. This past year must have been incredibly difficult for you and your family. Hopefully, the upcoming trial will be swift and the outcome just.

R.I.P

Our condolences. May your family heal quickly and remember the good of the man you lost.

I don't have the words to express how sad this makes me. May your family find some peace in the fact the men who did this are in jail.

jmccalla,

I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Words fail me, truly.

I'm praying for your entire family. May the Comforter be there to dry your eyes and bring you all peace and closure.

My condolences, sir. As a professional correctional sergeant, I can tell you there are some religous inmates who will take a man killing a preacher as a serious offense. Usually the ones who joke and laugh on the outside are the first to whine and cry on the inside.
The thing that STILL gets me is the "showing remorse" thing - most criminals are actors as well, to be able to lie thier way out of things, and they can show all the "remorse" you want, unless they don't feel like it. Thugs like this care not one whit about what anyone else feels, it isn't important to them.
The Good Lord bless you, and keep you safe, amen.

May GOD bless your family with HIS peace, and I pray that you will be able to imagine the huge celebration for your brother on his arrival with HIM.
I also pray that his messages and efforts will not be forgotten by those of us who are still dealing with the leftovers of those who will not stop working against our rights.

Bill Clinton yesterday "the Democrats haven't taken on the gun lobby like I did."

My condolences go out to you and your family. My condolences go out to all who have been gunned down by those who do not deserve freedom. The world we live in today...There are no words to describe this situation and the times we live in...The times we live in.... :(

Bill Clinton yesterday "the Democrats haven't taken on the gun lobby like I did."

He voted for Clinton, as a side note. Just thought it was funny. Thanks for all the condolences everyone, I'm sure as the next trial comes in in a month this topic will get re-hashed. Good to know so many people are pulling for the family.

Actually, I'd prefer to use guys like these two for some live target ballistics testing, but hey, that's just me.

That's very kind of you. :)
Hope my username doesn't offend anyone, seeing as I now own a 360pd and a K-31 I might be a long term user of this forum. I figured the best honor to dad would be to use his username (almost).

My condolences to you and your family.

This being WV was this a DNR range?

We had one close to me that was closed back in the Spring due to safety concerns. I'd wondered a few times about crime up there. It was remote and unpatrolled.
