HB2528, which would close what many Kansas cities saw as a loophole in the concealed carry law that would allow them to post public property not specifically listed by state law, was passed by both Kansas houses then Vetoed by Governor Kathleen Sebelius. She also vetoed the original CCW bill only to have her veto overridden.

Apparently Queen Kathleen does't learn from her mistakes, yesterday the House voted to override, today the Senate did the same.

Thanks to all those who worked so hard to get this bill through and keep it alive!

I wonder when she's gonna learn... voting for gun control here is just signing yourself out of the next election.

I'm putting in my vote to send her off to a blue state in the next election.

Hey Steve48, are you going to the KSCCW get together in McPherson?

If I understand this, essentially you now have "statewide pre-emption" over the efforts of local tyrants to post certain public areas as "No-gun Criminal Protection Zones"

The Kansas League of Municipalities discovered what they perceived to be a loophole in the law whereby cities could use the property owner right of denying the right to carry on their property and urged city governments to take advantage of it.
Most wanted to ban carry from parks, municipal parking lots etc. Some even went as far as to say they could ban weapons from all city properties, including but not limited to streets, sidewalks and alleyways.
HB2528 closed the loophole.
