I need to buy some cast bullets for 45ACP. I need 230 Gr. RN and 200 Gr. SWC's. I seem to have it narrowed down to Kead or Mastercast (I have used neither before). Have any of you used both of these suppliers? If so who's bullets rate the best in your oppinion? Both seem to have great prices and good reputations from what I have read. Thanks!

Bullets are same/same ... in theory, Keads should be a little harder but in practice, you can drive nails with either of them. Of late, you've got a lot better chance of actually getting them in any reasonable time frame from Mastercast.

I was buying from KEAD but he is not returning emails, etc. I think he is overwhelmed. I have been buying from Bullet Works in Breckenridge instead. Artie will ship 2,000 bullets in a flat rate box for $12 and their quality, I feel, is better than KEAD. www.bulletworks.com

I used to use KEAD and liked them, they shot well- problem is George has too much work and really only takes time for his bulk reloader customers. Us normal shooters appear to be wa-ay down on the totem pole for getting product to. So far he's running six months behind and honestly doesn't seem to care if you cancel your order or not.
I like George, I like his bullets, but his business model needs help.

I also buy from Mastercast Bullets in IL. Mike is a great guy to deal with but I do suggest you call him instead of using email because he told me his inbox is swamped. You will get your order fast if you call.

As for The Mastercast Bullet Company in PA, they are also good people to deal with. I feel the priced from the first link are a little better and I've heard their bullets aren't as accurate as the ones from Mastercast in IL. I can't state that as fact because I've never shot the bullets from Mastercast PA but have shot MANY from Mastercast IL.
