I recently bought a KT P-32 in the parkerized finished and it has been great thus far. I have fired approx 170 rounds of 4 different kinds of FMJ ammo, all without any ammo problems. The only issued I did find, and I noticed before I even fired the gun. Before shooting I took it apart to clean and lube (not fluff & buff) and I noticed the mag follower stuck twice and didn't come all the way up. So I took apart the mag and made sure I cleaned it up because I suspect there may be dirt or other debris in there.

Went to the range the 1st time and after about 110 rounds the slide locked back, and I thought it was a failure to feed. But the darn follower was stuck and not allowing the rounds to come all the way up and so the gun thought it was on an empty mag and locked back.

So when cleaning the gun again I took some sand paper to the sides of the mag follower to clean it up when I was cleaning. Looks like it worked, because I fired another 50 rounds with no problems. I am going to shoot about another 100 rounds before I put full confidence in the gun, but so far so good. I'm going to practice with and carry the S&B 73 gr FMJ, and I also just ordered a P-11 in hard chrome to give a try.

I've had a chromed p32 for several years now. I never had any problems until I hit about 1200 rounds, but the last 200 or so rounds were very hot handloads. Kel-Tec replaced the gun and I've shot nothing but standard ammo in it since. I never fluffed and buffed either gun.

They are ammo sensitive though. I've never had luck with Magtech or Aguila 32acp. I've had great success with Winchester White Box and just about any European load. Premium SD ammo works well too, but I don't trust a 32acp hollowpoint at those velocities (one of the reasons I was working with hot handloads).

My P32 is my near constant companion.

I had some rim-lock probs with JHP, but mine is almost 100% with FMJ. Stay away from aftermarket mags. I had some "hard primer" problems with S&B, gone when I switched to RWS.

RWS is good stuff. I wish I had bought 20 boxes back when Aimsurplus had it for $5/box. I only bought 10, long since gone, and now it's $8+ when I am lucky enough to find it.

I haven't had any hard primer problems with S&B, but I've only fired 5-6 boxes of it so far.

I'm, getting ready to buy a .32, I don't want to sound stupid, but, what is RWS? And it looks like FMJ is the way to go? What is a good price for one? Just a blued model..

Thanks,

Jim

You should be able to find the "blued" model for about $220.00
I would highly recommend getting the hard chromed model for an extra $20.00 however. The P32 is awesome!

RWS/Dynamit Nobel is a brand of European 32acp ammo. It's fairly hot by American standards. IIRC, out of my P32, it was pushing a 73gr FMJ bullet to 900fps. Unfortunately, it's hard to find.

I prefer FMJ in factory loads because I don't trust HP ammo to open AND penetrate at the velocities you normally get from 32acp pocketguns.

Call up B&H Gun Rack, last I talked to them they had parkerized P-32's in stock, and I think they are $215 plus $10 for shipping. They don't have any Hard Chrome ones, and the Hard Chrome is hard to find right now. The hard chrome I have seen are at least $245-255 range also.

I like the parkerized, it looks a lot better than the standard blueing, and will hold up better also. Just do a Yahoo search with "B&H Gun Rack" and it will come up, and give them a call, can't beat the prices!

Good Luck, you'll love the gun!

I think a lot has to do with the shooter also. Every time on the last round? Sounds like it may be limp-wristing to me, or maybe the gun just wasn't for them.

I too used to have a Seecamp .32, nice looking gun, but that thing jammed on me at least a dozen times out of 200-250 rounds, so I sold it.

To each is own I guess, but as long as the KT keeps shooting like this, I won't sell for twice what I paid!

Jonnyc, if you don’t want to go to the trouble to make a Flyer Wire, Kel-Tec sells a Rimlock Preventor (#P32-314) for $8.65. Rather that installing it for JHP and removing it for FMJ. I’d recommend using separate magazines. Call Kel-Tec 1-800-515-9983 if your interested.

I sold one gentleman three Kel-Tec P-32's and each one had failures to feed the last round from the magazine on more than one occassion.

It does sound like limpwristing. The pistol is at its lightest on the last round.

I also had an unreliable Seecamp some years ago after waiting 2 years to get it. They're fine pistols though and well made but even some of those have problems.

I had one but never could get through the 200rd break in without jamming problems or the gun breaking. Sent it back twice and when it broke the third time, I gave up. Never will trust any product from Ke-Tec as I think the quality is very spotty. There are too many good guns out there to waste time and money on ones that are such a crap shoot.

I know many people get ones that seem to work but I was not one of them. I wish I was because it is a great idea and I would carry something like that everyday. Maybe soon someone will make a P-32 sized gun that is higher quality and I will buy it.

Wilson,
I tried a spacer and thought about the Flyer-Wire, but things started getting too complicated. At the same time I decided that FMJ was the way to go in .32 ACP. For a pistol of that size and type, simple is the right road.

While I have a Rimlock Spacer, I don’t use it. I keep Cor-Bon JHP in the pipe and top round of the magazine with the remaining rounds FMJ, which also eliminates the possibility of rimlock.

kt

mine hasn't malfunctioned in 150 rds. i like it; it feels like a water pistol & has the feel of a larger gun when shooting.

I got lucky when I bought mine 3 years ago. Had my dealer order a blue one and the the wholesaler sent a chrome one for the price of the blue one. I didn't do anything but fire 2 boxes of Winchester white box ammo and clean it. It jammed 3-4 times on the first box but fired the second box without a hitch. Then the next range trip I fired 2 boxes of Fiocchi fmj ammo without a problem. I have been carrying it for the last couple of years. I really like it as I can drop it in the pocket of shorts without a belt just a elastic waist ban and it is so light weight it doesn't pull them down.
