Kern County, CA CCW process

Has anyone been through the Kern County CCW process recently? Any success? I have heard that Kern is one of the more CCW friendly counties in California.

You shouldn't have a problem at all as along as you meet all the requirements.

I live in Arkansas now but Kern & San Bernardino counties were both all but shall issue.

I recently contacted the KCSO to inquire about the permit process for new applicants (I already have mine, but I encourage everyone else to get one). Basically if you live anywhere in Kern County, you are now eligible to apply for a permit, regardless of which city you live in and if you applied to the city first or not. So in other words, if you live in Kern County, think of a good reason why you need a permit (if all else fails, you drive the back roads late at night from somewhere to another or something). Do not list it is your 2nd Amendment right as they don't really buy that as a reason, but they will buy just about anything else. It should be a snap, as long as you live in Kern County. If you don't have a residence here, you might need a business here, but even then, good luck.

YUP.

San Francisco, Oakland and a few other hell-holes may have individual cops that will tell you otherwise. They lie. CCW from elsewhere in the state is the one thing they can't do anything about.

In such areas though, it's best if your driver's license address matches the CCW license address!
