Kimber Custom II ? Good or bad ?

I did a bunch of research on the Custom II, prior to buying one. The frame, slide, barrel pretty much match grade, for a bit less then 700 dollars. My MIM safety went south, and I replaced every MIM part I could find with Ed Brown forged, and did some other stuff as well.

The finish wasn't great, so I had it chromed. It's a tack driving, wonderful custom for under 1200 dollars now.

Even with out the custom parts it shot far better then any glock except a well setup Glock 34 was close.

I had a Kimber Stainless Custom II Target. I competed with it for several seasons. It was very accurate and after 20,000 rds, showed virtually no wear. I sold it because it was never 100%. I then bought a Limited Edition Target Match. Approximately the same accuracy and it was 100% with hardball, but I would not carry it because it was not 100% with JHP ammo. I learned my lesson: no more Kimbers. BTW, my Springfield Loaded has over 12,000 rds and so far is 100% with every type of ammo, although it is not nearly as accurate as the Kimbers.
